Im 15 mins in and i think i know what the plot will be…kids in super android bodies will be the last stand against the alien threat because androids have super speed, heights arent a factor and have almost t1000 capabilities…
And then the PREDATOR that made those clicks in the trailer shows up and kills them all

Ofcourse i can but if somethins trash im not gonna lie and say it aint. I gave the show more hope than badlands and itwas a let down. Bad acting, bad scripts, bad editing, no character depth, only good thing i can say was good were the set pieces 🤷‍♂️
The story line of kids conciousness being transferred to super androids who got super speed and indestructable is stupid to be completely blunt.
I feel like us as predator and alien fans were longing for content and some are excepting a low bar quality because its been rough for us lately, i wanted to like it but i aint gonna lie and say “its a masterpiece” when is like romulus almost ripping scenes from either 1 or 2. I empathize with those who are willing to except mid to low grade additions because ive done it too

Even that was bad. Never been about the story? Alien 1 and 2 had way more character depth regardless how little and aliens had the dynamic of ripley grafually showing the momma bear aspect for lack of a better term. Enough where ppl have favorite characters like vasquez, apone, hicks, hudson, even ppl that we love to hate like burk.
Ill put it like this my wife and kids arent as big of fans as i am but they have seen them both alien and predator and when they saw the trailer for badlands they said literally "thats not predator, and my wife and daughter watched the show with me and said thw opening scene seemed like a direct rip from alien 1 and said it doesnt even have the atmospere the others did.
They immediately pointed out how the synths are now almost like super heros with super spead and sarcastically leaping buildings (referring to wendy jumpin off the cliff) so from ppl who arent as big of fans were able to pick up on them, to me, says a lot. If you seriously liked it or thougjt it was amazing then good on you but imo it fell extremely short on all fronts except the visual asthetic of the sets for the ship.

If it was as"stereotypical" as you say then it woulda been jus another scifi alien flick vs being an all time great sequel. This isnt an argument as much as you migjt wanna make it one 🤷‍♂️

Mostly agree. Acting is so-so. Needs a lot more exposition. Aliens and other besties look nice. Plot is kinda meh and needs more development. Many things don’t make sla lot of sense too. I think it’ll get better after a few episodes when we know more about earth in general and if it will be more than aliens vs androids.
I agree, the acting while not memberable on the dialogue (call backs and all) seemed to me if they did it their way (with more depth) their performance might be too meaningful if Im not mistaken and they might all just die any way so maybe its like nobody would care. This was mainly on the beginning act where they just got deployed.
