Predator has had its own games. They weren’t very good. AvP games have mostly all been well received.

I would say yes to the question of Predator deserving a game on it’s own. Illfonic also already said that their events in the game will be pretty much be Earth Locked, not quote for quote, but that’s the general gist of it. I don’t believe Xenomorphs, in a gameplay depiction where there is whole modes and attention taken away from Predator 87 Flavor in favor of AvP Flavor would make sense at all.
Kinda of like how Aliens and Predators are Canon to Transformers, but do you see them at all? No.
I personally want to be able to hunt AND play as other prey than humans, like if there was a mode similar to Predators(2010) premise, but everyone who is dropped in can choose from a Roster of characters/classes, Xenos/River Ghost/Arnold ect/made up for the game species/prey based on skulls in Predator 2 and stuff.
Free for all Vs multiple predator or something. More about the predators getting the 1by1 hunts and worthy skulls, the Predators could each have a marked territory on the map so it encourages them to hunt alone.

With it being adapted into 3d…and maybe a whole lot more polished.
and maybe not in the same perspective shot as the original.

That would be cool the ideas are endless in the end its up to illfonic they’re gonna ultimately do whats best for the game and business because that’s how companies work I just think if there was enough people on board with this idea and illfonic hasn’t considered it it would give us the gamer’s what we want this ultimately should be an agree to disagree type situation again we all want the same thing at the end of the day this game to be successful Fun and Fresh

Name a predator only video game. Mobile doesn’t count.
If they add Aliens, then that means they’ve ran out of ideas and creativity and are desperate. There’s no other excuse.

Bug fixes first additional buggy content second though I agree it could be interesting I’d like to see better smoothness of games then a new enemy there are a decent amount of frame drops lately if they add any more things to compute at once it will only become worse I’m not totally opposed to xenomorphs being in this game just not yet
Here’s the thing, it would be cool to have a mode like that, but as you can see some people want it just to be a Predator only game, which makes sense.
The games called Predator: Hunting Grounds, like what is there to actually hunt, humans and boars. It’s a bit lack luster when it came to that, like Ai humans, Fireteam and boars, that’s it, and hell it’s not even the stealth gameplay I wanted, Predators can find Fireteam off the get go, Fireteam can melt the Predator, nothing is as what it seemed with the title. I wouldn’t even call it hunt mode, I’d call it ESports mode, it’s too fast lol.
But keeping with topic, yes we need new enemies, we need better environment and gameplay, Xenos would be a great way, however I don’t think having them playable will be the correct decision, as noted, it’s Predator: Hunting Grounds, so instead have multiple people hunt Ai Xeno’s, then have world bosses which spawn now and then like the PredAlien or the King, stuff like that, they don’t need to be playable to add content. As long as the key part is the Predator gameplay then I believe it would make both sides happy, without it becoming a AVP game.

I wanted to get back to you first and really you’re not wrong about Fox being all over the place with the franchise. However as each movie has been made they’ve let the directors establish whether or not something is canon with what came before. Shane Black was the last person before illfonic to dictate the current canon. illfonic is building off The Predator, I would think that means Fox sees it as the last official canon movie that was made. That means what Shane had to say about there being 6 movies in the series, is true as we can get until illfonic corrects us or changes it. (Seeing as they now have control of the canon.)
The AVP property is actually split between the movies, which fall into the Predator side of the canon and the games/comics that fall closer to the Aliens franchise and can be seen as extended universe. AVP games are set in the future, they star colonial marines, lean much heavier into Aliens being unstoppable and include the aliens POV as playable. Concrete Jungle by contrast, has xeno’s but is still clearly a Predator game, it isn’t an AVP game.
Now, I personally think illfonic does plan on adding Xeno’s but finding evidence within the tapes or game is unlikely, we’re dealing with devs here. They always try to keep things back till it’s time for it (or contractual reasons). If aliens are in the toy-box they’ve been given, I can’t imagine they’d tell us till they dropped the mode or patch.
I’m unsure if Xeno’s will be playable but lean toward no, this of course comes with the caveat of ‘if they need a player to make it fun’ then they’ll be playable. I think that allows them to comfortably say this isn’t a AVP game it’s just a Predator game that has Xeno’s as prey.

Tone is entirely subjective, it really adds up to you arguing your feelings about it.
Or just like on earth there are multiple cultures, JH was on Safari but he was a movie monster not a fully developed character. We weren’t told or shown anything substantial about the Yautja culture during that movie, only the behaviour of one individual. CH and his clan are called the lost tribe, we know next to nothing about them or how they fit into Yautja culture. They do appear to visit earth regularly and also based on their trophy collection hunt on other worlds.
The AVP movie were the first to try and give more insight into their culture. You could easily say the difference between the lore from AVP and the first two movies are purely because it’s based on different clans.
Requiem gives us the Predalien and shows off the home world. It adds very little to the lore that I can recall. It also adds weapons and makes the Predator even more into a heroic character. Can’t have the Xeno’s wiping out other good prey.
The Predators gives us our first bad bloods, but it carries on the hunting party of 3 tradition, from the first AVP. What it really shows us though is that different clans have different practices and some are considered criminals.
It’s possible JH wasn’t even supposed to be on Earth, same goes for CH’s lost tribe. Any difference in lore can be attributed to things we don’t understand yet.
The Predators had call backs to both the original two and the first AVP. All the ‘lore‘ in it is speculation, nothing is proven or shown other than a potential bad blood with human DNA and a new larger type of Predator who wanted something that was stolen.
So lore being different isn’t really an issue to me, there is a line through it, it twists a bit but it’s there.
They’re two separate companies currently, and I actually expect one or the other to make an appearance in game at some point. This is also a matter of the AVP movies using something from the Alien franchise that might require permission to use and no ones bothered asking. In the prequel novel to The Predators there are companies that are referred too that I believe where intended to be Weyland and Yutani.

I don’t feel adding Xeno’s makes it a shared game, Xeno’s are just another type of prey.
It’s a game and I think it would be fun. I don’t think I can really give you a satisfying answer to that question because I don’t see why having Xeno’s makes it less of a Predator game. To me, fighting Xeno’s in this game would make me happy, I don’t need another game, cause I like this one. I’d like it more with more types of prey and new challenges.
For me, It’s still a Predator game, even if it has Xeno’s.
Depends, if they remade the original Predator and a Xeno burst through the jungle when, I was least expecting it. I’d pay to go see that reimagined remake. Xeno’s are fantastic video game enemies, even if it didn’t make sense in the movie it would make sense in a game.
AvP 1 and 2 had a completely different culture from the pred movies entirely. Humans were just an annoyance for being there, either in the way or stealing stuff & treated as cattle for facehuggers. Not trophies. “Merging” the lore doesn’t make sense.
Dude, that is a very weak argument. They ignored the humans because they weren’t there to hunt humans. (Also they didn’t ignore them, they killed the guards in the whaling station, skinned and hung them up.) They were there to earn their casters and get blooded. Possibly to kill the queen but that is implied not stated I’m pretty sure. As why would they kill her when they could just refreeze her.
The clan in AVP may not have the same rules or culture as JH or CH’s lost tribe. Hell they might have been trespassing for all we know, the cold weather elders could be in charge of earth or just this temple, we simply don’t know.
PS. I don’t want to have an argument about Predators only hunting the strongest prey. They take trophies from tiny little birds to giant mutant dinosaurs. A big game hunter bags a 10 point buck for over the mantle and a grizzly for a rug. Predators are the same… that and you don’t start at the top of the chain, you start at the bottom and work your way up.
