I had a good look at it in another engine environment and I have to say - with right materials applied it dose not look bad at all - actually it might be on the same level as default masks. If right materials will be applied… judging by what happened to Mr Black and Falconers heads I have strong doubts.
We just have to wait and see. Also, on another note - Illfonic is using nick names for them as usual:
BigDog is Mr.Black (yes, its not Tracker, I’ve checked :-) )
Crucified is Captured
WildBird is Falconer
So far there is no subfolder for Tracker - also, no idea what nick name will they come up for him
So on that note, why does Captured’s mask look like it’s made out of clay? It just doesn’t look metal to me. The specular highlight is considerably muted comparing it to JH. Is it just that it supposed to have been lit on fire or something? Because it doesn’t look like it has.
Do they all have a specular texture map or is it a special helmet shader that should resemble bronze, chrome, matte (for the Alpha pred) etc.?
and believe it or not, JH isn’t exactly the same as Captured, it is theoretically the same, but you can see slight jaw parts a little wide on captured and maybe it’s back ridges a tad longer.
Again - low quality of textures and, most important, material files applied. You can make the most detail 3d mesh, that will be a work of art, but give it to someone who dose not know shit about material files (special files that are handling light distribution, reflections and 3d features) and it will look alike a cheap 3d asset from CAD browser.
Good example is what happened to Mr Black and Falconer heads - they look so cheap not because of low quality of 3d modelling - they barely have any material files applied. Have a look at my post in Feedback section
I’ve just pasted a compare image between default game scout and Mr Black heads 3d meshes - you can see there that the level of modelling for Super preds DLC is top shelf, so its not the 3d artists… it’s the guys who were handling textures.
I know, I already had a very CLOSE look at all 3 of them (JH, Elder and Captured). Cudos to Illfonic for going this extra mile reather than doing copy paste XDDD
Its nothing to write home about though.They just did it to prove they did somethng.
But i do see the issue with the Falconer mask. There is barely any specular on it and all i see is texturing painting.
Mr.Black I think they did a harsh specular as it looks like its cast iron (as it should always be).
I also see the Superpred faces do not have specular. SHAME!
Mr Black mask is probably one of the best quality and movie accurate masks in the game. Falconers mask, as you’ve noticed, is lacking good material files. I’m afraid Tracker will suffer from the same issue
By material files, can you actually see them? And are they texture pngs or are they procedural?
Im wondering if there is a way you would be able to do it in the Unreal dev kits and do a render.
Otherwise we will never be able to hack a mod what with the shit they impose.
And if you figure its easy enough to add, maybe we can get the devs to do a hotfix and enhance these textures.

oh shit, i figured that much. because they just dont appear in game and in cinematics they do and such.
So I have a question, how are you able to get all of this information? Not trying to be rude or sarcastic just really curious how your able to see what the Devs are doing
