Balance in P:HG 2.20

Technically speaking he is not hunting at all, he is fighting for his life XDDDD, but that is not the point - the real point is :

I could not agree with you more! - this is exactly why I’ve made this thread for - so often I see posts about balance changes in order for the game to feel like a hunting experience - NO! Balance will not give you that - accept this game for what it is, and that just happen to be a very entertaining FPS shooter.

Okay. My bad. Yes. I think it was @Lazycollinator that always wanted this game to be something it could never be. I agree. I still think balance could be better, but it won’t fundamentally change the hunting experience.

He got cocky ;-)

He ambushed them, but there is no back story with details

Hoppers team were not on that heli - that was the CIA recon agent

I think so too, I mean all of us have some ideas on how to improve it (now we can test it in privates!) but in general I’m happy with the state of it

Was he just taking a closer look or did he mean to attack?

It would be interesting to know how the the ambush played out. How many men there there were and how pred approached the situation.

Who knows! In the and its a fucking alien XDDDDDDDDD God one knows what gose thrugh that green brain of his XDDD

There were 3 bodies on trees, Billy says that from tracks he can tell there were 6 of them, so pred took 3 bodies with him… to do something with them… like really nasty stuff…

The writers would know. Either it was just a way for pred to fall for the trap or something purposeful.

At that point he realized that humans can make traps, with multiple layers (swinging trunk). It seems like he got the first part down when he encounters the spikes after arnie gets into position. But he didn’t consider that another trap is set as well.

Indeed - he was outsmarted. Not beaten or stabbed to death like it often happens in our game ;-)

Yeah, this game has a hard time being what it is with all the glitches. Adding multiple layers of complexity would mean that glitchs would become unintentional traps 😂

You could argue that a coordinated FT is outsmarting the pred with their combat tactics, whereas randoms having access to same resources are having a hard time doing so.

True.

Indeed - this is the case.

More like heavily outdamaging the Predator due to stacked up specs and perks that increase damage.

Still, you have to know how to use it effectively. Lots of people claim that playing FT is easy, but that’s after 100s of hours of practice and things leaned through experince.

I disagree. One-shot mechanics are very exhilarating when done correctly. The key is that you need to have reaction based counterplay such as the opportunity to dodge or parry.

Having preplanned counterplay (such as a certain perk or a safe spot in the map) is not fun for either side.

You NEED to have one-shot mechanics leaving the attacker open for counterattack if the person they are attacking is quick enough to get out of the way and line up a shot.

To use the high damage the fireteam has you just need to hit the Predator, anyone with some experience with first person shooters is going have an easy time playing this game. Fireteam is easy in comparison to playing as Pred, its easy mode, while Predator is hard mode on this game.

Sure wait times are annoying, but the difficulty is one of the main reasons why many people never play as Predator, why many who did gave up on it after the fireteam was buffed months ago or why they only play as Predator against randoms. There are like less than 10 predator players in the whole world that can put up a good fight against great fireteams while they are dozens of great ft players.

That’s why I said high risk high reward. 1 shot mechanic but if you screw up you’re done, but pred doesn’t have that. They can 1 tap an assault with a full plasma charge with elder stalker, or hit someone twice with the disc in 1 throw with a good DPI and hiding spot.

Here’s the thing.

For that to work and be fun in any way it would require some decorum from Pred players. If the Predator is that capable of real stealth and ant decent damage, your average numbskull will be wiping teams in 3 minutes and laughing all the way. Especially the state of the average player who loads in with a CS12 running the duelist spec.

Whos talking about teams? ;-) When it comes to real hunt expiriance, I don’t think about P:HG limitations anymore - actually I don’t think about this game at all - I think about a completly new game, diffrent at its very core. A survival game. A open world game. That is the way to do it.

I agree with the comparison

What would make pred play easier besides doing the buff this, nerf that?
