Berserkers

Berserkers are fucking terrible and need more strength or hit points.

They can’t run.
They can’t jump.
Their Stamina is crap.
They don’t do enough melee damage.
They get shredded IMO faster than Hunters.

I’ve been trying to use them but they just suck.

Going back to Hunter & Scout.

the beserker used to be just jump in and hammer people and it worked. the issue was that was all people did. They got nerfed hard as a result cause there was no counter play for it for fireteam except people mastering parry.

Illfonic nerfed their health, melee damage and nerfed the combi

The nerfs may have been to much though but with some planning and decent use of your gear a beserker can destroy fire teams. the trick is to use your gear and alternate weapons.

You need to slow them or immobilize them with a net or trap or separate the team in some way. you still need to be kinda stealthy to get close enough to leap slam at the right time.

but the beserker is no longer the “jump in and lay waste to the entire fireteam” the way it used to be. I do however believe it needs either more health or more stam to compensate for the other nerfs to it.

Maybe huge dmg increase and low attack speed can help

Or the perk “impenetrable” really reducing gun damage.

slower attack speed will just make the beserker easier to parry and with the way parry works that would destroy him.

I totally agree even running long jump and adranal boost barely helps makes it just playable but still need to be careful zerker slam should be wider more imposing like a proper ground slam! Hulk smash kind hes bug enough it doesnt feel like a zerker anymore its more like a fat hunter who gets out of breath easy haha. I bounce to defend illfonic and critisize but i am only a player i had no ties to any 1 other than myself so i admit some things the devs have done could/should be polished but i will say it time and time again there building a game no1 else dared to make. Just like they did with evolve Brilliant game in my opinion if you like arena type shooters with a boss battle style and that had bugs on release and for a few months after but after that it was pretty crisp playing and smooth servers. Servers atm are shakey. That could be due to more players/less servers i dont know and im sorry for going a little off topic in my rant.

I’ve tried a bunch of perk and equipment combos.

Adrenal Rush is a must-have, used Long Jump also, if you don’t have the former your done for if you hit second wind.

That’s the thing that I am actually disliking. there is no point that a perk should be a requirement. There are perks for every pred that nearly everyone uses and if you don’t they are extremely easy to kill. There are perks for the FT that are almost a requirement to use because it makes surviving the pred and killing the pred significantly easier. None of this should be the case to be honest.

the issue isn’t the damage. its the fact when the pred gets parried they are in an animation lock were they can’t move, attack, leap nothing. this gives a second or two for the FT to melee, or the rest of the team to open fire on the pred and just melt it.

I honestly believe the pred should have its melee left alone but give it a larger aoe radius to its slam and a small passive health regen. I listed these suggestions here.

that is false, only thing they reduced it the Berserkes passive Dmg. They dont need any more health or buffs. Just becaus4e the average person can;t go ham swinging in means they need buffs. You Buff the berserker, Ft needs buffs/weapons needs buffs to counter the BS of zerker.

You know, the Perk Fearless will Imrpove your melee damage… I have no Problems playing a Berserker. Maybe you should use some more Creativity and think outside the box instead of trying to Rush in 4 Ft members at once.

Passive health regen for pred is quite dangerous. But I had a discussion a few days ago where we came to the conclusion it is bonkers that you are 100% required to bring the health syringes because you can’t fully rely on pigs alone. Their spawn location/rates/consistency is absolutely trash. I’ve played matches with (no joke) 7 pigs in one location, next to the main objective of the FT. There wasn’t a single pig anywhere else in the map.

Now explain me how I can heal myself, if I don’t bring syringes. Because I will be burned down if I do try to eat a pig.

So Health Regen could be a thing… but then scouts will become the new meta. And I kinda want to keep scouts in the clear since they tend to bounce around - a lot.

See up until I recently changed my play style dramatically as pred my only success was with Zerker and his high health. It’s still a pick off game. Take them one at a time, and the zerker was the only one I could successfully run, down, quick claim and pop out with that gave a margin of error for mistakes. I hated it too because he’s too slow and too big a target so easy to find but dammed if that extra bit didn’t keep me out of SW all the time.

Beserker in my eyes is the best character to learn to play Predator with. He’s still viable against 80-90% of the playerbase. But once you get really good with Predator, you will notice his flaws time after time because you cannot outrun a team chasing you, even if you “simply” want to heal.

Beserkers still have their plasma caster as well which a lot of players don’t fully utilize. It’s the best opener because the damage is AoE and it forces the FT to heal up at some point. If you use the same blaster to kill their health packs (hehe) they will panic shortly after.

But keep in mind that - at some point - you gotta switch (back) to hunter or scout.

Whenever I play FT and see a Berserker I’m relieved. About 99.9% of them jump in and just melee. When ever I see a Berserker main on here I always get a good chuckle.
The Bersekers fine. I’ve yet to play a game as him so I just tried a game. I played like a Hunter or Scout. Staying back with the Bow. I had to jump down and use melee of course but only after 1 FT was down.
I think the people that mainly play Serker don’t really get the idea of Sport Hunting and just want to end the game quick. You jump down on all 4 ft, get parried and die. Than come to the forms and talk about how he needs a buff when you just need to come up with a better play style for the Zerker.

lol, you act like I’m a noob bro. Day 1 player and played during Trial as well. I avoid fighting more than 2 FT members at once if possible and thus far prefer Hunter over the other classes — and it’s the class I wipe FT with 90% of matches.

Scout takes too much damage, but with spotting nerfed — I’m going to play with them more often.

If you apply Fearless, you can’t use both Adrenal Boost and Long Jump then, one has to go.

As I said in OP, I’ve experimented — but maybe more experimenting needs to happen.

I focused my perks to be beneficial for out maneuvering FT, esp in second wind situations because zerkers are so fucking slow and have shitty stamina.

They also are slow at weapon/gear swapping. Even their melee attack swings are slow asf.

So Fearless, Adrenal boost and Impatient might be what I run for perks after work as a test. I can’t recall what the last build was.

the passive regen I suggested is only for the beserker. The post above has the classes divided and the suggested passives ect listed with them.
