Best FT loadout to SOLO a PRED

Used to be able to cut it out of the air before it hit you.

You used to be able to shoot the net out of the air. It was actually balanced that way. Now it’s more of a EZ win weapon.

Once you know he has it you can use obstructions to block it (trees, poles etc). It can essential be used against a predator. Skilled preds like myself wont use it on a suspected premade.

True. Only a bad predator would waste a net on an obstruction, though. You only need to land one, after that, subsequent hits and melee are easy. Also, while in the net, you can’t sprint, heal, or parry. That’s asking for an imbalance.

As others have mentioned, there is no build that will allow you to go solo against a decent Predator. You may get lucky, but only in the event that a Predator gets greedy.

That said, Thick Skin is invaluable, it should be on every build you run, with the only exception being a Support with Gearhead in its place.

I’ve recently run Dutch ‘87 with Thick Skin, Dexterous, and OWLF, and I keep an eye on the clock to make sure I always have mud. It almost completely negates a Preds ability to stay in melee because Dutch can simply hip-fire the Pred into SW without reloading. Pred cannot do enough damage if his first strike lands while Dutch is hitting him.

It is the closest thing to a solo class, but even then, a somewhat good Pred will win that matchup 9/10 times.

If you’d rather run another class, and the class allows you to stack Thick Skin and OWLF, that will maximize your survivability if caught on your own.

The best way to solo a Pred is to do it when you’ve got three buddies with you. ☺️

Also the net cant recharge or anything like that. If you can trick him to use them all up hes short a weapon now. This is one reason I prefer the bow. At least I can replenish ammo. I would say if its to be made fair make it so pred:

-Only has 8 nets 2 for each fire team
-Nets are harder and nearly impossible to get out of and most likely will bring you to 10 health
-fire slower so its possible to dodge if timed correctly

ANYTHING BUT BEING ABLE TO SPAM IT lol

You’ve got the right idea. I would say fewer nets, 8 is fine. You can already do a lot of damage before the target can escape, but I can test this to figure out exactly how much.

What I would really like, other than just cut yourself free with your knife equipped, would be a 6 second reload. The animation could be altered to look like the predator uses their off had to charge each little dart that carries the net.

That would be MUCH better and less spammy but then the console players wont have any weapons that gives them an edge :S

Console players are doing much better now that the fireteam actually has some aim assist, and playing predator with a controller has never been much of an issue.

There are several counters… as mentioned, use the environment. Don’t give the pred a clear shot. Be close to your friends so they can cut you out. It’s super easy to do. It really is only good against noobs who aren’t paying attention, and that one sweaty FT who parries. Don’t let yourself be isolated or in the open when you can.

Yeah. As I said, with a premade, it’s not really OP, but what a lot of net gun users will do is kill one or two players with range. If they manage that, the rest of the battle is a joke.

As far as randoms gameplay, it’s completely broken, because without proper coordination, it’s super easy to catch people while they are out of line of sight of the other players. In that situation, it’s cheese, because your target can’t shoot, sprint, heal, or parry. You get a free kill without taking any damage.

There is no way you can win 1 vs 1 a Predator, unless you are the Grenade Master!

Yeah I am in that even if I have told him that I dont use low settings and I have never insulted him. On the other hand, he was insulting me a lot of time during the game.

That’s why, when the knife comes out, use your bow. That was funny to watch.

Also, melee tracking still isn’t that great unless you move toward your target. He missed so many wristblade swipes.

You don’t solo the pred unless he lets you. If he does, he has made a mistake.

Yeah… the hypocrite.

Wrist blade tracking is garbage

the only downside to this build is your squishy as shit… and you can get 2 shot. Alpha, hunter and city run circles around FTs… and are best for premades. Elder is to slow on the ground and FT can catch up to you… zerk and sam arnt even an option
