Bow damage shadow buff?

Testing some things and found that the bow does 57 damage uncharged and 75 damage charged. Why so much uncharged damage? I know the bow doesn’t consistently charge, but you don’t really need to with that much base damage.

With DR uncharged was 62 btw

Iirc it was always 75 damage charged without down range.
Depending on where you hit, headshots do more of course.

It used to be 53 uncharged and 70 fully charged, and I’m completely okay with the charged damage being buffed, but I used to think the uncharged damage should be less, like 40 damage, and now it’s nearly 60. That paired with its slowing effect makes spamming the arrows extremely effective. That’s 171 damage in 3 rapid fire shots, and 188 with Downrange. It’s no wonder that premades gravitate away from the weaker classes, because it’s suicidal to run scout and recon against predators that hop around and rapid fire bow shots, and, without field medic, you can’t revive teammates that go down.

So not being able to charge shots and being stuck with rapid fire wasn’t a bug it’s a new feature.

It should be even higher the damage in my opinion. Considering that you can only hit uncharged from close range, range in which you usually get melted in 2,5 seconds 🙂

Probably to keep the bow half decent when it bugs out again?

Keeping it closer to the max amount of dmg would at least provide the player more base damage when it can’t properly be used.

It’s better to give the predator higher burst damage rather than high DPS, if you want fun hunt matches. When the DPS is too high, it’s similar to the problem with elder sword and alpha sickle. You get short matches where it’s either kill or be killed, rather than a back and forth hunt.

It’s fine for now, but don’t be surprised when every team is support and Dante with field medic, against PC predators at least.

High dps is the only way to match ULTRA SUPER HIGH dps, if they nerf ft damage by 50% I could agree with less Uncharted damage and more full charge damage. For now Pred is forced to kill people fast because of high ft dps and revive speed and high hp as well.

If they did that, predator would be a cakewalk.

It would bring the ttk from 2,5 seconds up to 5, in a 1 vs 1 situation. Game is still 4 vs 1 btw.
