Bunch of slack-jawed ******* around here. Give Illfonic a break!

First, this game was released during a worldwide pandemic and quarantine, by a smaller than average team (they’re not Rockstar/EA/Bethesda ya know) who is more than likely WORKING FROM HOME via Skype and email. It’s difficult for any business to operate at its peak right now. Secondly, this is their first FPS, and they did a damn fine job considering. After all it’s a pretty big leap from Friday the 13th to a squad based FPS. And I wouldn’t worry about future content too much, if these guys could nerd-out hard enough to put the NES Jason skin/music in F13, I’m sure they have some awesome fan stuff in store for us this time as well. Just chill out for now and take it as it is, it’s obvious they care a lot about the source material. Besides, it’s Illfonic, they’re unconventional developers, but that’s what makes them unique and able to make games that go against the current trends. Have a little faith, take a deep breath, and enjoy the game (until my coordinated, silent, party-chat enabled FT and I chase your bleeding berserker ass across the map to stab you with our superknives and mud up on your body just to disrespect you in ways that crouching repeatedly on your face never could). And thirdly, most importantly… This game will make you a goddamn sexual Tyrannosaurus, just like me!

Can we really use the pandemic as an excuse for this mess? I mean you can say some folks are being “harsh” but in all reality what was stopping them from just delaying the game? Also keep in mind other games seem to have released A-Okay with little to no issues and with plenty of polish.

criticism is criticism and we can’t stop people from having their own opinion and sharing it and it is sad to see the reviews come in tearing this game apart and I say most of the complains are more towards the bugs because they are quite vast…

I’m with you. I love this game and while there are minor things that could be tweaked, overall it’s a lot of fun and I’m grateful they didn’t delay it. Also since I can now no longer look forward to The Last of Us 2… this game is especially appreciated.

Tangent?

There was this little development company created in 1991, they made several games that were glitchy as hell and required updates and patches upon release. In 2001 they created a game that is one of the most well known franchises of all times, this game upon release also had a few bugs because while having some prior semi popular titles they were still rather small and the testing and development team they needed they couldn’t really afford. Today you would know them as Bungie. Give Illfonic some time, they got a big license to do this and with Sony as a publisher we can expect great things.

I agree. People be asking when the next update is when we literally just got a series of Hotfixes and that Balance Patch less than a week ago. Content should be secluded for this month too. Things are happening, just need time.

It’s called a contract with the publisher, and a release delay could have meant litigation and the end of the company. Also during the last few months to about two to 3 weeks before release, they are still ironing out bugs between testers and developers. That time frame hit right as the pandemic swept the globe. So…

Agreed they have more then enough personal stuff to worry about that makes this game come second. The fact that they did release it still even though plenty of games were delayed shows already that they’re giving us what we want. Minor bugs are to come with any game. But if you can play one game and have a fun experience then I think you’ll live

Love the title. Predator is one of those Classics that you can infinitely quote. It’s awesome.

Regardless of what Title you’re looking into, everyone will find something to complain about. I don’t get it. Nothing out there is technically perfect; perfect is a matter of personal preference. Super Metroid, one of my all time favorites, has a lot of blatant glitches that can be activated and they’re literally Game breaking. Mario 64?? Wall Glitching and tons of speedrunning Exploits. The list goes on and on regardless of what you’re talking about.

And yes, those two Nintendo Classics are miles ahead of what we have here with Hunting Grounds. It’s an unfair comparison. BUT!! When you break these Games down further, there are technical issues (slowdown, bugs, exploits, etc.) that exist in practically everything out there.

Let’s take it a step further and say everything in Hunting Grounds is repetitive. Let’s look at Mario again, namely the original NES Release. All you’re doing is collecting 100 Coins and Jumping across a Stage from left to right, 25 times in succession (if you play through every Stage without the Iconic Pipe Rooms). Fortnite?? You’re always going against 99 other Players, building Structures and looking for the best Weapon while shooting Enemies in the same Stage (that might rotate every few months). Destiny?? Let’s grind the same Strike out to the umpteenth time so we MIGHT get an awesome Weapon with the possibility of decent rolls.

Everything has repetition, bugs and rough patches. People also forget that Illfonic is more or less an Indie Studio that doesn’t have the Budget or the Resources of bigger Studios, like The Coalition or CD Projekt Red (they’re essentially Indie but bigger in comparison) so the whole experience won’t be as polished as something from, say, Microsoft’s 343 Development House. Could Hunting Grounds be better and far more polished?? Yes, absolutely. But when you look past it’s issues it’s actually pretty good and pays a lot of awesome homages to the ‘87 Classic. But above all else, it’s fun. And isn’t that why we play Games in the first place!?

And seriously people, if there’s something you don’t like, we get it. There’s also plenty of other things to play. Don’t ruin it for those of us who genuinely enjoy playing Illfonic’s latest.

Listen here bitch, fuck you and your team. UnTiL yOu RuN iNtO myyyyy team. It ain’t impressive, you aint special, ft is too fkn strong atm. Played a few matches as ft earlier, fkn pred is a damn squishy joke.

So until they make pred not be a god damn marshmallow you shut your face.

Before I net and gag your ass and hang you from a tree and leave you to starve to death. Cause honestly? Taking your skull would be fucking worthless. fight me. Lol.

But no seriously it was to the point I felt bad for the preds we killed. Granted they werent the smartest but holy hell. I felt the a.i. juggernauts had more health.

Fair but a lot of the player base is new. You’ll run into a predator who will scare you like when you were a kid and watch the first movie

actually the last of us 2 just got a june release

You will hate that game. Trust me lol

To be fair illfonic gave us a demo A 2 day trial with 3 small maps in before the release date if you all remember, question is how many of us would have brought this game if we knew we were buying the trial lol, its a bit of a smack in the face dont you think for not being notified that what we experienced in the trial is exactly what we get paying out £34.99-£49.99 for lol having said that for whats its worth this game is fun and illfonic have done very well giving us predator fans what we’ve been waiting for a long time to actually play as the predator also this game has so much potential to go on be an absolute great but its down to illfonic to make it happen and needs to remove target isolation from the game and add more ingame time also sort the predator spotter out or very soon this game will be dead.

Yep, that’s what I meant when I said I only had Predator to look forward to. Thank God for whoever leaked that terrible story and saved me $60.

Things have seriously changed at Bungie, take a look at their forum and you will see why. They made a great game and tried turning it in to a cash cow. I think their biggest undoing was the “making content is too hard”

So sad to see a great company turn to doo doo…

RIP Destiny <3
