Lemme ask you something. What do you do when you load into a match and it’s just 1 or 2 guys? Be it that the other two/three never joined to begin with or they all DC’d at the start? You just immediately go for the Kill? or you quit on the spot and find a new match? Me, I stay. I stay and make friendly with 'em, unless they really want to fight. I help them do the mission, protect them from the AI and help 'em get some challenges done and gain more VT or even XP if they’re new. Because a 2v1 or a 1v1 ain’t a fair fight. There’s no honor in it. So I team up with 'em, because that’s more in the spirit of the series, and what a good Pred would generally do.

I do whatever I feel at that moment. Sometimes I’ll stay other times I’ll look for a different match.
The CS streamer squads on launch day just dropping the pred before he hit the ground simply because he hit the leap button & getting bored of doing so after a week was sad.

The game is never going to be this hyper competitive E-Sports where everything finely tuned and things that the fanbase hate gets removed, etc and so on. Devs are gonna continue to put in whatever they want/makes money at the time and that’s how it’ll be. The game is and always will be what it was from Launch. A fun arcade-style Asymm with a bit of jank. It don’t perfectly mimic the tone of the original two movies, but it’s got heart and if you play it by the rulebook & get experimental with your builds you’ll have some proper fun. You say Counterstrike players picked this up at launch and then dropped after a week or two? Literally not a problem, this is not at all the game for them and was never meant to be.
You just need to stop being so fixated on being the best of the best and just accept the fun jank chaos for what it is. And for jank chaos, things are pretty fair across the board right now. Sure both sides being super hyper-lethal with certain set ups can be annoying but hey, just increase health and that problem goes away. Maybe you do only win 2/12 games in the hyper competitive zone, but that’s just 10-5% of the playerbase. Everyone else is here to either fuck around with whacky shit like a Scout with a Rocket Launcher or have some fun tormenting FT by being a cruel bastard that nets the last dude as he tries to get on the chopper: shutting down his interaction and denying him an escape, all just to roar in his face when he goes down to rub it in. And for all that, balance is fine.
Ya win some, ya lose some. If a thing is a big enough problem, Devs will fix it in a month or two’s time. How it always been. Just don’t waste hours complaining about everything because your winrate isn’t 100%. A loss can be a very humbling experience, if ya let it.

House of the Dead & Time Crisis are beloved IPs for one reason or another. Nothing wrong with something from the 90s.
the piggy kills all to ez i guess. way harder for a pred to heal in this game… FT on demand heals and free health kits all over the map

FT Heals can be destroyed. FT can’t destroy a Pred’s Heals. Which actually doesn’t make all that much sense, should be relatively easy to shoot a pig corpse to pieces. Should be the same options for both sides. If I can destroy FT Medkits & Ammo Crates, they should be able to destroy Pigs. We both still have Stims & Medicomps that can’t be taken away.
Literally no one’s asking for that most people just want hitscan gone and them to do something with the poorly implemented mechanics.
Saying a pvp game isn’t meant for people playing competitively and this game was destined to have 200 players is silly. There’s something wrong with the core gameplay loop if your playerbase keeps dropping off a cliff every patch.
dude stfu already. eating a pig is a death sentence. you can spend 3 min killing hp boxes… or by that time depending on the mission… they are out
Well it didn’t get me killed the other day so I’m feeling pretty confident.
just be smart about it and you’re fine, take down multiple pigs so you have options and arent limited to one pig that the FT is watching, improvise adapt and overcome.

The gameplay style of this game is perfectly in line with the series as a whole. You seen the shit you can do in AVP 2010? Makes this game look like Rainbow Six Vegas. Same with AVP2 from 2001.
And the only place this game has 200 players on is Steam. Vast majority are on PS4 & PS5. With the other large majority still being on Epic.

in line with the topic of this though, i would enjoy for either an overkill perk where you can carry 2 primary weapons, or just open weapon selection. I want to challenge myself either team i am on, gimme a glock or a 1011 and my knife lemme at em. Im all for things that will make the game more enjoyable for everybody. At this point i probably wouldnt even argue with nerfing the damage of the sawz.

2010 was something else. Marines could be 1-burst Aliens & Preds. Everyone could form a literal conga-line of Stealth Kills on each other so all you’d see is like 10 people lined up killing each other in a row. And then there was the fact Combi Sticks, Smart Discs & Plasma Caster were basically 1-shot kills on anything in that game. Was an actual clusterfuck with no real skill to it. But damn it was fun. You’d get in a group of Aliens, if one of you were a Preatorian everyone would treat ya like the Queen and follow you around, Preds would form hunting parties of three together, Marines would be try and stay frosty & check those corners, making tense crawls through dark corridors and checking their motion detectors. Compared to all that, HG is like a strategy game.

I think a lot of people forget that there is strategy to this game on both sides. Developing your own and adjusting them to fit the location/engagement is key to that sweet victory screen.

Yeah exactly. And sometimes the opposition has better strats than you. But that doesn’t mean they’re busted. Just means you need a different game plan for them. I don’t pull out the same shit I would on randoms against you & Justin & Wuff.
