Cloak test.

So it seems that the range is 50 meters, not 45 meters, that the pred becomes fully invisible while cloaked.

So heads up, vids kind of long, but I wanted to include as much as possible, without having filler in there.
I did this lazily tho, cause didnt want really edit that much.

So feel free to fast forward and rewind as needed.

The only other thing worth mentioning is that we tested out the crouch hitbox for ft, and you can not hit the head. So needs fixing. @Courier @OldKingHamlet

As for everyone else, what do you guys think about this?

Personally I think that minimum visible range for seeing a cloaked moving pred should be 100 meters, but just me.

So ya have fun with this vid and this knowledge.

And idk who else to tag.

@Fire want to hear my honest take on this?

Yep that’s why I called you here.

At 100 meters i think he should be fully invisible

At 60-80 meters and coming in closer, he should have grimisshing and blurry cloak, that shows and does not show at the same time… and the closer u get at 50 meters he should look a bit more visible and more realistically resemble this down pic

It’s fine.
Throw 3 nades on the roof and it won’t be standing no more

Either way textures need to look better by a lot… and as i said 80 meters would be ideal to see predator from

Sounds good to me. Lol. I can live with that.

You slap a good pred with an almost beginner ft randoms, they are going quite possibly never see the pred if they are using range only, an intermediate player is still going to struggle, and pre made mostly definitely is going to have a run for there money, this bodes very bad for the meta, I get that they were trying to nerf snipers, but this just hurts everyone else in the process, and thats coming for a pred main.

I think the problem lies on how much focus you have to put into it. Now that’s it’s a lot harder to see you have to focus a lot on the predator. You can still get a rough idea of where they are with the trails left behind when they fire a range weapon. But here’s the thing, because of how much AI there can be swarming you it can be ridiculously hard to focus on it. I think illfonic should start with toning down the number of AI so we have more room to focus on the predator.

Or coffee’s idea because that’s better. Either way is fine with me 🤷‍♂️

Good players will adapt.
My concern is only trying to keep it fair for everyone.

You posted right before me. Ha. Anyway, here is the thread for my test against fireteam and predator thermal vision.

I’m gonna be perfectly honest. I love the 50m range and the fact that predator cloak is incredibly useful. It makes melee viable for hit and runs and escape possible when you do make a mistake. I feel pushing it to 100m will hurt that aspect a lot.
On the other hand. Snipers are essentially useless against any half skilled predator now. It’s very very difficult to fend off any good ranged predator.
I’m just not sure how to call this one. 50 does seem to short going against skilled predators, but I don’t know 100m might just be too much for your average pred against highly skilled PC FT.
Tough balance act here.

As i said either 70m or 80m

I see where you’re coming from.
Lol this time I’m looking more towards like average ft players not being able to keep up.

But this is why I posted this. I’d like to see what people think and we can all take it from there.
So far I’m seeing a 50/50 split.

Yes the cloak is fine. Maybe a few tweaks over all but its okay. Its given a new fear into the game and makes a ft have to be more aware of whats going on around them instead of mudding up in the open.
