So here’s the shit I’ve read about the movie

  • Bad cinematography
  • Bad CGI
  • Dumb fights
  • Dumb Predator
  • Naru isn’t a good hunter

Cinematography is excellent. Photography, soundtrack, sound effects, the scenery is just impressive.

All the CGI was on point. Didn’t see Naru leaping trees like Wonder Woman or Neo on The Matrix. I’ve seen very bad CGI on Big Blockbusters. Nobody complains. Only bad CGI was the mountain lion, which is understandable because big cats are far from safe to work with, even trained ones.

Fights weren’t dumb. The Predator engaged in almost all fights at the level of its opponents. When it crouched in front of the wolf, when it brawled with the bear, when it used projectiles against the indian with the bow, the spear against the indian with the spear, multiple weapons against the french which fought together. The name of this predator is also FERAL which literary means when a domesticated animal returns to their wild, undomesticated state. This predator was fearless, brutal, and behaved more like a wild animal. It’s also another race/breed. Possibly one of the first hybrids, if not that the super predators are completely separate species that evolved from a common ancestor.

People saying Predator lost half the neurons in the last fight… HE WAS SHOT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD!!! Literally a chunk of its brain flew out. Humans start drooling when hit hard in the head and can’t even coordinate eyesight…

Naru wasn’t a bad hunter, but neither was great.Taabe was and in the end proved to be even better warrior than the Predator, it having to cloak and hide in order to beat him. Tabee hunted for his tribe and fed them relying only on primitive weapons. Mad props to him. Now, Naru was a “great tracker”. She paid attention to detail, and that didn’t change throughout the movie. In the end that was what saved her. She made constant observations of how the predator behaved, its tactics and weapons and adjusted her tactics accordingly.

In the final battle, was Naru “just lucky”? Yeah, that’s part of the “Hollywood” fantastical narrative for the hero to be a hero. Having the Predator win is not something most people wanna see.

Movie was awesome. 9/10 for me. Just as enjoyable as the originals P1,P2 and Predators (my favorite)

It was much better than I expected. I’m very happy to have been proven wrong. Also, glad to see somebody else giving Predators some love.

So…it was a good movie up until “I’m smarter than the beaver”. Although in all honesty if that point blank shot to the back of the head had killed the pred then I would have forgiven her going action hero all of a sudden at the camp against the French and given the movie 9 of 10.

When she figures out the heat vision? How? She had no reason to think him playing dead wasn’t the reason pred was ignoring him. The trap at the end, beyond luck at just plain stupid. The slightest change in events, including the pred getting pissed and trying to power through, ruins the plan.

That’s one of the greatest and most overlooked aspects of the first film. Dutch’s plan failed and he was lucky and it worked. Meanwhile the whole movie is establishing her cleverness and her grand scheme relies entirely on getting lucky…breaks character and that’s the worst offense

After the tall grass scene in general it turned into Upgrade predator 2.0

cgi monster tanks shit throws people standing in the open posing and killing people culminating in weightless cgi boss battle at end of movie, arm cut off again, gets attacked by dog again, etc

Glad to be able to agree with your assessment, sir. I will be rewatching this movie quite often in the coming years.

Muh CGI… I want a human in a big clunky suit moving around, or better yet, seeing an invisible thing like The Entity just killing everyone…

Jeez. It’s not perfect, but, holy shit, it’s not bad. I’ve seen much worse in Marvel movies.

I think from a mobility/athleticism standpoint this suit was by far the best. If they just fixed his damn face Feral would be my new favorite

i get what your saying with the face but then i think t kind of fits the name feral as much as i wanted a better face design i can’t really complain the movie was awesome man. i agree if his face was slightly better designed he would be up there with JH for me but for sure he is 1 of my fav Predators now, he is just so raw and uncut and just barbaric, lives up to his name

The mandibles are a gift and a curse. They’re so unique, but there are so many ways to f them up, too.

Why the vertical orientation and almost no skin between the top and bottom mandibles. Also, his forehead looks like a bulbous blob of fat.
