If not super pred, than this thing was one of the last Hish imho

The movie spent on a decent amount of time demonstrating she wasn’t a warrior but a clever hunter. Aside from the axe work she was doing, which is even more to the point. She’s good with the throw, but vulnerable after, so tethers it for quicker retrieval.
Now they were French, so the movie screwed up by not having them surrender instantly, but still…demonstrating she’s smarter than a beaver doesn’t Segway into her Jason Stathaming a camp of hunters.

More of a tracker. She wasn’t a great hunter. Only managed to hunt a few bunnies and that was it. But it did portray her avid skills of paying attention to detail, something that actually relates to the gameplay in PHG, which is far more important to be aware where the pred is than actually fighting it head on.
Hunters use weapons. Poachers use mainly traps. Big difference.

Well, while a trade and skill of it’s own, tracking is also an essential subskill of hunter. Point still stands though. Movie intentionally establishes her skills are cerebral not physical. Then suddenly she’s Jason Borne
She did went Jason Bourne only after the thing was heavily wounded and she had no other resort but to fight to the death. It was it or her. She realized she wasn’t going to be able to escape it.
Referring to her fight with the French at the camp. Pred fight stretches belief too but not as bad as her taking down a bunch of big burly trappers.
That whole scene was fucked for me. First of all, roles should have been reversed for that scene, he should have got the dog, she should have got the horses. Doesn’t fit right character wise, he’s absolutely leap before looking while she’s thinking more steps ahead and all. On top of that he would totally be of a more protective mindset and not let her go get the dog I feel.
Know it needed to happen for the pistol lesson and figuring out the preds vision (which I explained earlier didn’t work for me) but still doesn’t sit right.
Maybe I’m nitpicking but…it’s just my opinion
TBH I don’t see it far fetched. The french weren’t warriors, not even hunters. They were cheap ass poachers with probably little to no close combat training. Before that she engaged in a fight with even one of the best warriors of her tribe and managed to put a good fight against him, winning had not the other dude intervened, so it wasn’t like it came out of nowhere. She was a fighter for sure. The french were not. So is not that far fetched.
The heat vision may have been an editing error. I do think it didn’t make sense, and it would have, had she realized that only after the pred stepped on the dude. And also he shouldn’t have appeared as a dead body, as later on when she took the magic shroom, she appeared completely invisible, not like a corpse.
Still, I’ll let that slide, as it doesn’t take away much from the movie.

I disagree…again they did a really good job up until that point of demonstrating how she was smart about things. Figuring out your adversary biggest weakness to exploit is kinda critical in exactly that reason. They did it in the laziest nonsensical way possible.
Also agree when she swallowed the mcguffin-berries and just stood there? Made zero too.
I agree with you besides saying naru wasn’t a bad hunter she was pretty bad they should’ve made her a little better but at he end like you said the predator got shot in the back of the head and naru played it smart with the trap and was lucky. Also they’re was some bad cgi with the animals
