Disc Re-work

The disc is very strong. Having 3 just makes thing worse. Granted, it requires the most skill, or arguably, just a different game skill, as you now become a pilot. While controller players may have it easier to control it than mouse players, those with high DPI mouse can just make turns and control it in a way that others cannot.

While nerfing the damage is probably something that will trigger disc users, hear me out, how about making it lock to a target instead of drone flight, but make it come back after one hit. That way the disc hit+hit+hit+hit=out combo is gone, while also allowing all players to make good use of it. Something like the auto-targeting from the AvP games. It’ll still require skill, you will need to aim at a target for a full second or two in order for the lock to engage.

yeah an auto target tool would be cool

it’s what i hope the shuriken is if they ever add it

and since we know they are willing to add variants that have completely different moves (cleo disc)

it’s a reasonable assumption they could do a different disc that does this but i’d still keep the classic disc just for people that really like the piloting feature

do ya think making it un affected by long range stalker etc would make it more balanced

I said this 6 patches ago I just figured it’d be better as the shuriken* everybody wants. Let’s face it everybody said they didn’t want a new disc skin.

The disc as it is I like. It gives console players a real feel to use, they just need to work around the DPI exploit. Maybe change the control scheme to keyboard in flight? I dunno spit balling here

I would Enjoy this. But we should be able to have it both ways. Like a toggle. Targeted throw to manual throw.

Or maybe just separate weapons. You can take one but not the other. Like the disk could stay as is and the Shuriken could be the new version.

I say for those, revert it back to 1 or revert the “health” to what it was. Problem was that not only they buffed it to 3, but also buffed the damage it can take. Most of the time they never even lose one, so, there’s no point in having 3 honestly. Having one will force them to go retrieve it instead of downing anyone who even attempts to destroy it.

Maybe the shuriken can only go straight?

I honestly think the only reason they gave people 3 discs is for that rare instance where people lose discs uncontrollably like they go out of the map or whatever and since they couldn’t figure out a fix they did this as a bandaid solution

I don’t consider it an exploit, as FT K&M players can turn quicker than those with controllers, and that is not an exploit.

back when the game came out I used to play with a controller, and I suggested a 180 degree turn hotkey like other games have. Eventually I figured how to do sharp turns, but mouse is still quicker

LMAO, that’s so fucked up. But they haven’t fixed it for combi or arrows, so, meh.

Console players have been dealing with FT turn speed and hitscan snipers since launch though so…my sympathy is lacking

With all the places the disk can get stuck on, it’s not s good weapon for auto-target. If the disk is to come back however, get rid of the blue tail cause it’ll give away preds location prematurely.

Ehh I think the only change the Discs need is ya need to nerf their damage to like 100 on hit instead of 125 because right now when ya have them deal 125 on throw with each hit that’s enough to one shot a default HP Scout & Recon and considering any good Player is running a Damage Buff Spec & Down Range for 25% extra Ranged damage that takes the Discs up to 156 which is enough to instantly down Scout; Recon, OWLF, Izzy, Assault and even an unmuddied Dutch 87 so long as there ain’t a Support close by or they’re not running Thick Skin & OWLF Trained. Which considering ya know, Damage Stacking is the META right now for both sides not everyone always is especially with Perk Limitations. Taking the down to just 100 per hit only puts them 3 damage above the combi throw and would mean any 25% ranged damage build just puts them back up to their current 125 on hit which is a lot more manageable.

Outside of that though, I would like to see them making the Shurikens function identical to the Batarangs in the Arkham series. Just quick fire them instead of piloting and have them do like maybe 30-40 damage per hit and after they return to you they have like a 5 second cooldown or something.
