I said Jap one time ignorantly. Didn’t know it was a slur and Gotham’s Pred got really offended. Told me not to say that. So yeah it’s a slur lol
I do think it’s more convenient than saying
Ja pa nese

Why did you say it in the first place?
I said the japs are on at that time

You got some of the principles right!
We have 2 different types of cholesterol, LDL (low density lipoproteins) and HDL (high density lipoproteins). HDL is considered a “good” cholesterol and LDL is considered a “bad” cholesterol. LDL causes the problems associated with high cholesterol, whereas HDL actually returns the LDL to the liver. In the process of homeostasis, the liver maintains the balance by creating & releasing LDL and HDL to either increase or decrease cholesterol levels back to normal.
The liver can actually make 80% of all cholesterol the body needs by itself!
In the case of familial/genetic hypercholesterolemia, something goes wrong in this process, & for some reason the HDL cannot return the LDL to the liver, or too much cholesterol is produced without regulation.
In lifestyle induced hypercholesterolemia the body is consuming more than the liver can remove safely. This can cause fatty liver, (in advanced cases) liver cancer/failure, increased risk of aneurism, stroke, heart attack, and other cardiovascular issues.
This would be the bodily process of homeostasis of cholesterol levels. What is not sourced from food the liver creates to balance it out. That would not be or show as hypercholesterolemia, as it is just the natural homeostasis process responding to a stimulus.
Right, there are Japanese players. I remember those vids @Savage3i3 posted. Probably not the same guys tho
I never said it wasnt a slur.
Just that I don’t care.
It’s one of those things you hear about and are like.
Oh.
Ok.
And move on.
For the most part yeah.
But you’re wrong about the altering their personality.
It’s more like revealing it.
If I got into it, I would be writing a really long post which no one would give a shit about.
But yeah, unless people are trolling, they tend to actually be themselves online.
I’m the only person I know for sure who’s pretty much the same on or offline.
Only difference is I dont talk as much in person people I dont know because most people are ignorant and it leads to bullshit, and that’s just a waste of time.
Kon is the best one that I know of. They do play. There’s a bunch.
Gotcha. Thanks. So it is reasonable to assume that cholesterol can be controlled though dieting, correct?
Yes! Dieting is a great way to control cholesterol! In fact, diet & exercise is the preferred treatment for minor to mildly high cholesterol (unless there is a genetic condition or it is severely high, in which case medication is usually prescribed in addition to dieting).
One more question. How does the body decide whether to make HDL or LDL. I think it’s just lipoprotein carriers to and from, but when they say ‘you gotta raise your HDL and lower LDL, it seems like urs not under out control really’?
@ScOp_StUrMi is pretty amazing with the disk. Too bad we don’t have tourneys where all of top PS preds would show up.
Nerves are the key. They sense an imbalance, relay the information to the spinal cord & brain, there the decision is made what to do, and it is relayed back down the nerves to the liver on what to release to maintain balance.
And the coolest part is it is all done automatically without conscious thought! It truly is amazing what the human body can do.
So i see it like this. We consume too much cholesterol and it’s in the blood this LDL. Since there is too much, the liver will not produce any more, so HDL is low. If we consume less, then the liver can produce more cholesterol and HDL should increase. Maybe that’s only part of the picture.
One more question. I promise. So as i see it, LDL is not a problem on its own. It’s only a problem when blood vessels get damaged allowing it to seep through eventually leading to atherosclerosis. But wouldn’t it still happen, but much slower, even if LDL was at normal level. Perhaps not fast enough to produce symptoms, but maybe even healthy people could get AS if the live into 80s-100s?
Yeah one of the best Japanese players is Kon-Ban-Dator
He’s our good friend and also in the clan
Yeah, it’s probably easiest to be viewed like that. It also can be viewed as a feedback loop of “If LDL is low release LDL” + “If HDL is low release HDL”+“If LDL is high, release HDL”.
The system will try to even itself out, the problem is LDL likes to stick in the blood & in vessels, and if in too much excess & being constantly consumed, then no matter how much HDL the body produces the LDL can’t be flushed out effectively. The solution is to stop consuming as much LDL cholesterols (most cholesterol in food) so that the natural body process of LDL elimination can take place via HDL.
LDL is not a problem on its own. It becomes a problem when in excess where it will damage the vessels & seep through or seep through existing damage. The body can naturally eliminate excess LDL through HDL in the bloodstream, which keeps everything in place most of the time. Theoretically yes even healthy individuals would experience AS if they lived long enough, as the constant damage not being repaired by aging would lead to it, but you would have to live a long while to see effects, likely beginning at maybe 80-100 like you said, but the matter is that most people won’t live long enough to begin to notice effects.
I didn’t think the last tournament was bad.
Just too many of the preds quit out. The ones that realized they wouldn’t win a match.
Yeah, the regulation makes sense. One more thing i need clarification on. So from the diet we get pure cholesterol (big if) and fats which can be used to make it, correct. So if a person consumes enough of pure cholesterol, they will have hypercholesterolemia and liver will not make any more. If this is the case, why would stations be effective as treatment?
You’re right. It was very FT top heavy. But even so it would be nice to see someone like @SomeknowmeasXeno, @Anonymous.Voorhees13, @Savage3i3, @Mith and you helm the pred side.
But yeah, scheduling can be very tough
I can see this happening also. The point is that those people wouldn’t behave to this extent in real life.
That’s how it is sometimes. You gotta keep giving people chances and perhaps educate them. Everyone has slightly different experiences that shape them so it not unexpected for them to be ignorant or dead wrong about certain things.
I’d be glad to see another Tournament go down, I have a lot of regret for missing Jelou’s after being one of the first to sign up because Wolf launched atrociously & the update had no bug fixes so I basically quit the game at the time to go play Elden Ring.
