Yeah basically this
Do y’all think illfonic make a comeback
The shelf life on this game is indefinitely there like F13. I wouldnt be surprised if there are still plenty of people who haven’t played the game and next summer, youd still be capable of match making. You will just need to deal with people further away. Which will have tons of delay and rubber banding or longer ping times.
There will still be returners because no matter how many fanhaters cry over this game, they will always check in to play a game or two if they totally have nothing to do. But who knows after the pendemic is over it might leave alot of people bored or busy.
I only suspect illfonic has one more giant sized map based update but I don’t see it going further than one more. --unless they make an unusual announcement that either halts everything or restarts everything.
787 Studios let them buy it and Polish this Game. Days Gone just look at all the little details in that game for such a huge open map of free room that renders beautifully a few hiccups but at least they were informative with their community and consistently alerted about updates upcoming updates patches bug patches. 787 has Gregg’s Vote Plus I’m a Syphon Filter fan and they made that game back on PS1
Days gone was a great game and I would love if they got ahold of the predator IP
I nominate IO Interactive since stealth action has been their thing for quite some time
I voted yes as a token of hope fingers crossed as always but my expectations still remain slightly above the floor just in case…
Possible comeback… How does developing a game even work? Whoever did the art is talented id say… The mechanics around the setting doesn’t mesh well. Nor does fair play exist. On top of all this another buggy game. When I heard predator was being developed I just assumed Sega was a logo id see…
Undecided
You buy and rip/repurpose assets off the unreal engine market if you can’t hire anyone who can do it themselves.
The AI are just a basic wave spawn that can barely path to alarms.
Clash is just king of the hill.
That said, if illfonic doubles down on things they’re actually good at (?? Map design? And The 1 guy modelling all these pred animations for awful melee weapons?) and drops the notion of trying to do anything with AI because they’re bad at it, game’s salvagable.
Drop the extra baggage and just release a Predators battle royale sort of thing (with some map objectives still in it so its got its own twist) and throw in a weekly shop and battle pass for good measure. And season passes allow for a release schedule that isn’t overwhelming for this year. Hail mary turned fortnite around didn’t it?
Clash is just an experiement. It lacks any thought or narrative.
Devs play it every stream so they seem to disagree. That and they went out of their way to give stargazer/OWLF logos as if there’s future human pvp content, its largely a balancing experiment though and I doubt they’d be doing it for just this 1 disposable gamemode considering they’re still updating it.
Hmm, can this game make a recovery like SWBF2 (go from terrible to amazing and one of the best Star Wars games)? No.
Could this game make a turnaround and be a somewhat decent game? Maybe, but I would find that to be highly unlikely given how little communication occurs, and the fact that FT is the only one getting content at the moment.
Ew. The game is better dead than turned into an abomination trying to nickel and dime it’s community.
A weekly shop using ingame currency*
Cosmetics as quest rewards like killing floor 2
There
Eh slightly better. But overall changes like that would be awful imo.
Cosmetics as quest rewards would definitely be a welcome addition.
But BR, battle passes, overpriced skins, weekly rotation stores…they better make the game free to play if they want to even consider doing half of that.
Gotta do what you gotta do. I sincerely doubt they can actually maintain a monthly release schedule if we’re being realistic, even triple A games can’t drop monthly DLC. The previous stuff on the roadmap was in the works before launch.
We’ll know which direction the game is going with the February update
Which is a month away
That’s fair enough. So far though the 2 month updates don’t seem to be worth while either. If February is a dud they better take even longer to make sure the next one is of higher quality. That’s if the update hasn’t killed the game though of course.
But like I said, if they want to add all that crap then they better make the game free to play. That would at least make it bearable and also help the game. Otherwise it would just be real scummy of them. And hurt the game even more.
