They need to fix the leaping touching a fence or a branch or a ft member shouldn’t shoot you straight up it’s been what kills me more than a few times.
Fix leaping
Yep
You want to phase trough objects when leaping and be immune to damage? I hope I am reading this wrong.
Leap indicator is pretty user unfriendly and pred needs a vertical jump in general. lol @ people asking for city maps when you can’t even jump out of that building with the skylights.
I think leap is skill based. Had some who I could not track. More so if playing scout. I had this guy playing scout, one second he was close to me hitting me 1-2 times and then leaping before I could hit back. Only found 1 predator who could do this hit and run but man was it effective and that guy was good.
It’s like fin here said. It’s the indicator that’s a problem. It doesn’t register anything in the leap path a lot of the time.
We’re talking about actual upward navigation/collision with it not jumping behind people with their sensitivity set to 3 though.
That guy also had to jump out of there and cut line of sight. if you’re capable of just jumping in, you’re going to be dead when people focus you.
Jump behind someone
Stab without overcommiting
Jump out behind building
???
Not even the topic
Turns out the indicator is still shit. Next to an fence? Bounce. Next to a log? Bounce. Leaping up a hill? Bounce. Anything next to your feet? Bounce. Try to mount a tree from a rock? Bounce. Tree branch in the middle of your leap path? Bounce.
Any leap at uneven or elevated terrain bounces because the pathing literally doesn’t exist.
My point is the indicator should show you won’t make it is all or at least just have it stop you when you hit instead of bouncing strait up without expending the stamina.
Thank you that’s exactly what I mean
So you want the indicator to show you when you’re going to hit a fence instead of you using you’re eyes to deduce that? Some would say this is about skill.
If the very bottom of his foot lightly grazes the fence bounce up hell if I try to and a fireteam gets in my way straight up I go wasting much needed stamina. The branches are the biggest peoblem
Tell you what. Go outside, try jumping over a fence but make sure the bottom of your feet hit it, see what happens :)
I guess this is rocket science. I’m going to try to give you an idea what OP is talking about.
- Ok use your mad skills and stand beside the silo as pred.
- Now move the leap indicator to the top of the silo and skillfully push the button with your crazy skills.
- Congratz you propelled yourself straight upwards somehow in a game where leap can only travel in a set arc but also doesnt path that arc at all you predkour master!
Sike it bounces you to space because there is no vertical jump.
Surely you can see how this is going to limit the game to boring open maps or will you pretend otherwise so that you can argue something no one is talking about?
I won’t fly straight up in the air
I was to tired to realise but I just remembered he is trolling on another post I put up too.
Oh I get what’s he is talking about and my solution is not to leap blindly and make sure the path is clear before doing it. If he jumps and something is in the way he is going to “bounce” in place from what I understood. How is this not something that can be corrected by making sure crap is not in your way?
First reason: Quality of life. Yes it should path things in the way lest you get a random second wind because you happened to touch a branch midleap in a big dense jungle map. Not being able to jump over a fence because it’s on a hill is equally dumb when you could clear it otherwise. Same as being shot straight upwards because theres a 2cm log at your feet. You only jump straight upwards currently when there’s something blocking your feet which makes no sense.
Second reason: Map design. Can’t have a city map if you move the leap indicator to the top of a building and in return just bounce off the side or go through a window and die because you didn’t have a perfect arc of the rooftop for a 3000m leap. Every map will just be predkour trees and an open compound ad infitum.
First reason: Quality of life… Yeah we would all want that. Like smash not hitting me trough 2 walls from 2 floors above me (not exaggerating) but it would seem we’re not getting that and we have to use our skill and 1 person to go inside the building as others keep watch. Sucks right?
Marines also get stuck on pebbles on the ground when running. At one point I was facepalming at it… It is, what it is. I had to jump over it, I guess you need to evaluate the distance and height of the fence/hill just as well.
Second reason: We don’t have a city map as of now and none in sight to be seen. If we do get it you’re also going to have other problems like the lack of foliage to hide the predator. They will have to rework some of the balancing over here. Also imagine having big buildings (like office space with huge halls) where the predator can be 1-2 levels above you smashing with no possibility of counter. If they do introduce city maps they’re going to have a lot of work to do to rebalance/rework most things. Hell, disk in a small long hallway?! Yeah… The game is designed top down for jungle maps.
