Didnāt you want to nerf sickle and elder sword? You want to nerf the damage it does per second or like the type of effects they do? Iām just curious Because i agree the melee is underpowered.
So personally I donāt think melee is bad in terms of damage output and the parry mechanic as a whole. Itās real flaw lies in fireteam damage output. If you melee and do more than a hit and run youāre leaving yourself open for so much damage. Melee can only be used as a minor harassment tool or a flat out quick down on a completely isolated fireteam member because the DPS is so high. Used to be i could swing until I got parried but now if get parried (and manage to not get disconnected) youāre trading off way to much health to be worth it.

Elder and sickle deal too much damage in my opinion, on the other hand if you make an heavy attack for some weapon that cannot be parryed and a throw mechanic for other weapons you will make melee more viable. Viking Axe for example should be throwable because the heavy attack is the worst thing Iāve ever seen in that game since the beta.
Well i canāt argue that what you suggested. I do like the idea of every melee weapon being throwable and a unlockeable heavy attack
And the Viking axe i only use when behind then or while in bear trap other then that it sucks ass.
Itās still better to shoot him with the Bow in the head. A quick shot is like 90 hp so more than the Viking Axe š . That weapon is the most trash it has ever been released in this game.
The heavy attack is awesome in principle, but it needs two tweaks.
- the lunge needs heavier tracking
- the animation needs to be a little faster
I really cant see a future for that weapon if they dont change the mechanics. I tested in Private and the light attack with Fearless as Viking does 44 damage that is very low consider that a full combo is like 90 , nothing. The heavy attack is 88 damage, nothing. Itās still better to use the Bow because it does more damage and itās more safe. Katana, Sickle and Elder Sword are way better than the Mc donaldās Axe. Even the War Club is better. They should make the light attack way faster than the current one and add a throw mechanic with blind , stun or concussion effect on hit.
I dont want to deal with the bow bug and the arrows not going where i aim⦠lol if it was better Iād use it more

Melee has to be very carefully implemented.
We cannot have the return of the zerker rushers just wiping the FT at will.
On the other hand. The pred should always win a 1v1 melee encounter unless he has really low health or is just a terrible player.
Any tweaks need to be small and then left for a couple of weeks to assess their impact. Constant changes are not good.
