That parry is pretty much the only defense the FT members have against rushing beserkers+combistick.
I play about 50/50 pred/FT and when as a FT member have come up against a lot of these players. The predator is not a one trick pony… A lot of these players rely only on their thermal and melee, and pretty much do not know how to utilise the other tools at their disposal. Being unable to adapt when not being able to use the one trick they can do, they go cry and demand that something has to change because it hampers their play style and that is shameful…
I do not cry about these things. I adapt.
And maybe you should try and play as a FT member once in a while, to understand them better, know their strengths and weaknesses.
And if you come up against 2 FT members with knives that are able to take you down, you are the one that dropped the ball, not the game. A predator can down FT members in one hit (full caster charge hit, combistick throw etc) and I’ve seen preds demolish a full fireteam in seconds. I’ve seen preds who where very good at using their camouflage, being even more “invisible” than you’d think is possible.
So no, the parry nor the combistick need a nerf. You need to learn how to play and adapt. Get better. Or go back playing CoD…

How? I can barely land a hit , let’s say 2 hits if I pray to the gods, with the knife when any variation of the Predator is meleeing me. Wtf.

Yes, this I agree, FT players got used to the whole Berserker combistick combination and pretty match know how to counter it. Like, and I’m not even lying, every match that I play is against a Berserker with combistick. There rare instances where I play against a Hunter or Scout…
If the parry mechanic is the real problem, Predator players should just change tactics or something and not use the same thing everytime. It’s an asymmetrical game for a reason…

Right, let me just whip out my minigun and spin it up whilst this beserker is sticking his/her combistick/blades (or whatever other melee weapon he/she has) to my face… Or I should just start lobbing nades with the launcher at my own feet??? I could just go stand next to the first red barrel I find from level start, blow it and get it over with…
NO… Minigun and Grenade launcher are NOT CQC-weapons.
Parrying is the only defense when up close and personal with any type of predator.
And the knife being OP is bullocks. If you get stabbed in the throat, or in the kidney, how high do you think your chances of survival are? And even though the predators/Yautya are a strong alien hunter race, they still bleed, still have organs AND walk around half naked…
Keep in mind that they hunt the prey they deem WORTHY, which means prey that are able to put up a fight, or even kill them. Hunting highly trained Voodoo (spec-ops) soldiers is a dangerous (blood-)sport.
But if succesful, grants around 10k in xp. And if I’m able to do it, so could you. It takes effort and practice, and the ability to adapt to changing situations. Both FT and Pred have their strengths and weaknesses. Learn to exploit the first and mitigate the latter and stop wanting stuff to have a “cookie cutter” way of dealing with it…
yea or you heard him you pull it BEFOR he gets close and then you spin it up by taping tirger or left click and when he goes for that light him up,
didnt you JUST make the argument you need to get better? if your so good at the game why do you need this one thing? for you it should be easy to adapt to something else right? so whats the problem again?
god mode is our “only defense” lol, you know if you want to win so badly as the group of four so much might i suggest Dead by daylight or Last year? those games seem too fit you.

I did adapt, that’s how I found out about the parry. There is no other counter to the melee attacks of a predator.
You don’t seem to know about the “leap n slam” technique… I do not carry a minigun (I’m not the “pray n spray” kinda person), as most preds I encounter close in fast or leap on top of you…
And the knife is not god mode, it’s a deterrent for preds to jump 2 or more FT members without slamming.
The ones complaining are the ones button bashing. That’s how you get killed as a predator… you get parried and stunned and think, let’s do that again… And again…
And I think we all play to have fun, and yeah also to win. But I can also hanlde a loss. Whether I’m playing as predator or FT member.
And if you want your solo wins so badly, why not try a game like DOOM?

how about predator’s range weapon? you know these are really bad? There is a think why all running berserker with combi, and is because other weapon sucks a lot. I play only Hunter with Bow and Combi and I can feel the frustration when I need 4 body shot to knock down a fire team member, plus I have also to fast switch to plasma cannon and full charge to finish him. Is waaaaaay harder than berserker with combi. ANd also, if you fond pc sniper with your Hunter or Scout, you have basically lost …
You might be right, but FT players can get killed from 2 shots from the bow, besides the support ,he needs 3-4 shots. I was near death lots of times because I got shot from nowhere with the bow and I’m not blaming anyone, it’s on me. But still you’re not wrong, Pred needs some weapon buffs for disc and bow (the bow has 30 arrows but useless if they are not effective), maybe plasma pistol too. I would add a bleeding effect with to the bow, add a slow effect and dizziness to the disc, burn effect or something to the pistol.
This is what I would do. It would make these weapons much more fun to play I think. What do you say?

A full charged plasma cast downs a player… A good combi throw downs a player… A good arrow to the head hurts a lot. And the arrows have a debuff (slow)…

Tell me, why do I need to adapt again? Because others are unwilling or unable? That does not seem right now, does it?
And your idea of balancing is? You do know when you get parried and stunned, you can leap the hell out of there? Or take a step back and throw that stick through his chest, or put a plasma blast through his face… See if the player can parry those…
And if you get on second wind because you rushed in swinging that stick, you f*d up. And on second wind, you go as far as it lasts, which should give you enough distance between you and any pursuers. And there is a perk to extend this, and another to leave less traces of your blood…
As there are two sides at the moment saying the knife/parry/combistick need to be nerfed makes me conclude that there is no need for re-balancing those tools.
let me answer that with another question why should you as the fire team have god mode with out having to earn it?

Whats so weird is that I was reading this post while waiting for a match as the Pred and I kinda didn’t agree as much. Just agree it needs to be nerfed a bit,… but i got into the match and this guy instantly just pulls out knife… no gun and just parrys the hell outta me. I bear trapped him… still could parry. I dropped out of the match cause it was annoying. I see what you mean

Nope buts its NEEDED, the only way where i can say that something like that would be needed is if you cant work together you cant talk to one another and you can have a team of people in your discord but since you can, i FULLY disagree with having it in the game as is, i would at least bear min put a cool down on it
