A strict ruleset is not fully necessary due to practicality reasons as well as conflation with people who don’t understand that aspect of Private games and a more intense variation of the environment, it’s better to be more welcoming to people who still play more casually which would inherit the mindset of often explaining why we wouldn’t use soldering like Dutch 1987 has someone brought it and should be called if they don’t understand early on

Even though there are many things that people don’t agree with, some aspects should not be touched which creates a duality within privates, if someone brings something like recon tracker and you feel like it was explained enough to them or they should infact know better, than somewhat of a mental note would be in place of refusing to play or enforce a rule and what it amounts to is pretty much what years down the concept of a rule set or honor code which is usually coming down hard on those who don’t respect the loadout curtesy which can bleed over to many other private games or even public games where they are subject to various compositions you would otherwise pride yourself not to use and can even be warranted if comments arise indicating a misunderstanding of balance

There’s a few things about restricted loadouts that are not agreed upon and even are fought by some with additional poor reasoning but even though there are differences this somewhat hands off approach that evolves into punishment seems to be the best approach I’ve seen as players who bring unsavory loadouts will know what it’s like to play against of which can vaguely be considered guidelines hinting that thoughtful loadouts are a courtesy and should be geared towards making games responsible and flowing to keep interest and not burning out whatever Predator want to host

Touching on these rules for a sec, remember when people tried to do tournaments? And a very, very strict rule set was made and a lot of people got pissy because they couldn’t fall back on their crutches? I find that sad that you have these really great players that need to rely on what makes them comfortable to be able to win. Like this game is already out of whack balance wise, who cares if you run Support with plasma rifle and shotgun? If you’re whole team is good there will be enough combined damage to get the job done, plus it makes the game more interesting and likely longer due to more engagements over the course of the round, instead of the usual insta-second wind, chase, down, repeat.

I honestly couldn’t really care less about sugar coating shit anymore. If people have to crutch on overpowered classes or cheap playstyles then they are honestly just shit more often than not & I don’t want to play with or against them. If I’m going to have to focus & play properly to win, I’d rather it be because I’m playing against 4 legitimately good players on an equal wavelength to me skill-wise than because they are players crutching on broken shit. Same goes for when I’m playing Fireteam, I feel dirty when a teammate of mine is running Support or Dante. I usually run Isabelle nowadays because she legitimately feels like the only Fireteam class that requires some actual skill expression & isn’t overpowered in at least a couple ways. There’s still people who are playing Fireteam as Assault with Action Hero Perk & complaining that they can’t hit any shots on 200+ ping, meanwhile I can hit sniper shots fairly consistently on 200-300 ping and I’m not even that good as Fireteam.

Then there’s people like naskopz, Bot-_-Bravo, Mauricaw etc. who are just plain terrible & complain about literally anything the Predator uses if they can’t use Dante & Support.

Yeah I think I remember that tournament.

It was still Fireteam sided because they could run Field Medic, PDLs etc. & the Predator couldn’t run Down Range.

I remember the Apple Squad won it too, not too much else I remember about it though.

Personally I probably would be a lot more lenient now but also perpetually jaded towards certain actions like you listed and-then-some, I think it’s possible to coexist with different philosophies on balance to a degree and even prefer to play with people who really don’t care to win or overwhelmingly driven to play for the sake of skill or intensity

I would opt to not play with certain people within reason but if they are too far from reach in some sort of mindset I would avoid most likely due to some type of point of no return or irredeemability but that usually takes a lot of repeated offenses for certain actions otherwise the exact opposite and when someone in question somehow turns themselves into spectacle such as Rombak or Fantasma or more recently with the return of low mercy savage

I’m one of the people who did this. My idea was to play FT as a real FT military unit. People didn’t like it and the so called “pros” were whining about it. They just didn’t want to risk losing, I know most players don’t need none of that broken shit to win, but it will be more challenging and they didn’t want that.

They complain every day that most predators are potatoes, but refuse to play with non-broken shit.

I have not tested this, because I’m not a good sniper by any means, but ping seriously hinders assault rifles accuracy. Maybe it doesn’t affect saw-z so much?

I mostly run the GOSL-R and switch to HH on privates because is more accurate and compensates for high ping

If you hit pred on your screen you will do damage, ping does not affect accuracy directly and instead will cause erratic movements with either the predator you’re shooting or your position which can cause shots to miss due to misalignments that try to correct themselves during gameplay
