Common take but this was always a dumb matchup. Radioactive dinosaur with atomic breath vs literally a giant ape. If it was a random ape instead of sharing the same name as the one that died from falling off a building then no one would care.
So they have to do really contrived nonsense to explain why godzilla doesn’t just melt kong or hit him with a tail whip and end the movie. Moreso when godzilla just a. Survived re-entering the atmosphere, B. would’ve straight 1v1’d ghidorah in the water and has been fending off ghidorah since who knows how long, and C. Took a hit from a oxygen destroyer the most lethal weapon in this timeline and was going to sleep it off in atlantis.
Kong lost to samuel l jackson and some napalm and helicopters. It doesn’t even make sense as a matchup.
Even without the atomic breath you’re throwing a monkey in a arena with a crocodile bear thing and pretending its a fair fight.
Also annoyed because they keep changing godzillas design. Since 2014 the head just gets smaller and smaller. I don’t know if they shrunk him this time or what. Push the aircraft carrier over into the water, kong dies, movie ends wtf is this boxing. I’m not sure why they decided to do this AFTER godzilla just fought a three headed regenerating gravity beam apocalypse alien dragon to make it even dumber.

Sounds like Spiderman 3 now. This is going to be the dumbest thing ever lol. Why go straight into the mechas & what was even the point of introducing american monsters? And is a biollante movie asking for too much? A destroyah teamup after the oxygen destroyer was used in the last movie? Seemed like an easy one.
The absolute leap in technology for monarch to build a mech they might as well have just done a kong, godzilla, pacific rim crossover all in the same straight to dvd movie.

Toho did the exact same thing with godzilla over the years and its not about godzilla using his atomic breath and straight up kill kong right of the bat
There is differences and advantages plus obstacles along the way hence human interference (don’t forget that jonah still wants to control the kaijus) on how they fight and kong was still alive before the big one came up kong was younger at the time thats why he was half beatened by Packard but over the years he became smarter and much older now plus he didn’t heed ghidorah’s alpha call cause he knew that ghidorah was a false king
Godzilla can’t win all the time he has lost many battles but still recover after the battle but this film he will take the fall no matter what

Japan version was sorta a win for kong sorta draw cause we don’t see godzilla at the end only kong
So this version might prove who is king

No cause he’s not destructive like the other kaijus he has sentient thinking and shows feelings he was born in battle
You don’t know what he’s capable of over the years and during the events of KOTM

As a super nerd who enjoys listening and participating in powerscaling debates/discussions I know I’m going to be disappointed when I watch this movie

Yeah They better not KOTM’s had a lot of kaiju screen time than GODZILLA did here’s to hoping that the battle screen time doesn’t disappoint
Nothing is TOO much to ask for. Thats why this has to succeed. If you want Biollante, this series must continue. Also Godzilla: singular point is supposed to feature lots of other characters.

Did you even watch KOTM? It would not be Monarch making the Mech it would be that eco terrorist guy who freed KG there is a whole end credit scene setting up some kind of mech.

Or a hybrid kaiju monarch made mechs in case the kaijus decided to turn on the humans
jonah wants to control the kaijus, each monarch outposts was raided for the dna so a hybrid is a possibility but another Godzilla og kaiju would be nice to see with a monsterverse design
