Idk the whole skull island movie was about how they all got fucked up by skullcrawlers and Kongs parents weren’t big at all unless we’re retconning everything from 1 movie ago. Whereas Godzilla, Rodan and the like are prehistoric.

I’m guessing if it was war it’ll be way before the skullcrawler incident but yeah you’re probably right I doubt it’ll be that but honestly I’ll take anything over the title bamboozling us.
There’s 0 way Kongs escaped godzillas (if they’re sticking with the multiple zilla thing they scrapped in 2014) and proceeded to die to tiny skullcrawlers in skullcrawler war.
I hate the multiple species route it makes the monsters less unique when there’s a horde of rodans and a horde of mothras and a horde of kongs and a horde of godzillas, glad they did away with it. Having the same immortal creatures around so long they’ve watched humanity evolve & cavemen have worshipped and documented the exact same monster is fighting space aliens is way better. We still need a prehistoric hollow earth atlantis movie.
Maybe its a prior kaiju war in general and they all left hollow earth for the island.

Could be. Would make more sense. They did show Kong or at least a Kong, fighting some creatures when they said that so it could be a flashback scene of the war unless those monsters were in skull island. Been a while since I’ve watched the movies so my memory is a bit hazy on it.

You’re right there always the 1:1 imitation of BvS. Early screening leaks have been on-point so far though this movies’ had the ending rewritten more than once. As for the rest word is The war they’re referring to: Kong’s species used to be much larger but all the big ones were wiped out, the smaller variants that survived retreated hollow earth and exited out onto skull island where they were eventually wiped out by skullcrawlers. Kong is unique because of his size. Half the movie is spent looking for this ancient axe powerup. 3 fights, but the Hong Kong fight was cut in the other leak because China. Screenings had different endings also presumably because they didn’t know if they’d get the IP renewal with Toho last year.
