Suspiria (1977) was a another The Thing situation where the original is amazing and the remake is way worse and doesnt feel like the original at all.
Dubbed technicolor italian movie is better than one with well known actors made two years ago lol.

Gabriel is freddy, but silent hill. And COOLER than that kiddy diddler.
It’s got some really great dream sequences, and that scene where Jigsaw honorably defended his private property from those cops meshed into an entire movie
Midsommar fans hate it because its not grounded and they suck and its not some slow burn allegory for depression

Hmmm my interest is piqued. Like silent hill you say? I may just have to check this out. The room changing did give me other world vibes and the monster killing the woman that jumpscared the other woman remained me of Pyramid Head killing the other monsters after they pop out. Is it confusing and weird like Silent Hill? Will I say “what the fuck” by the end of it? Ooooh I can’t wait to find out.
But I gotta go back and watch so many other movies first though. I have missed out on a loooooot of stuff and I really need to catch up on them.
Hell if we’re recommending movies I have to recommend Frankenstein’s Army. It’s balls to the walls crazy, it’s fucked up and weird but it’s awesome. I watched it recently and I loved it! I think it’s all practical effects too and it has some insane monster designs. Check these creepy motherfuckers out:
Lots of lovely gore sections in the movie too. But it is in a found footage style which normally I’m not too keen on but I really liked it in this. I will say though, do not watch the trailer. It does not do it justice and they use shitty dubstep.

Yeah RE8 Heisenberg factory took inspiration from it. Sturm and propeller head are practically the same plus zombots with drill arms and hammerhead ones too are all very similar to the RE8 ones. It’s pretty funny actually. That’s actually how I found out about the film lol.
Yeah I’ll definitely have to check it out. Love films and games with weird shit that gets you thinking and trying to piece together what’s going on. Know where I can watch it on?
