Hot Take on "Story Mode"

To everyone who would like a “Story Mode”, why? Why do you need an entirely offline component to a Game that you knew was Multiplayer in concept? We need content that will better the experiences of those that will play this game with other players, not those who don’t. We all want Concrete Jungle 2, I get it. We ain’t getting it here.

Call me a gatekeeper, but the last thing Illfonic should work on in this game is an Single Player Component that isnt Expanded Tutorials. They should focus on bettering what we already have and expanding with new Multiplayer Modes.

Forget story mode. That’s my hot take. We’ve had plenty of story driven predator games, let’s enjoy this unique multiplayer offering. If this game is as successful as I hope it is, the next one will have a story mode as well.

because when the wait times are 15min + it would be cool to have the option to PLAY THE GAME

Didint even think about that point but you are entirely right. If we get that next they essentially would be saying fuck off to everyone who got this game for the experience promised

Not really its not Removing The PVP part of the game its just adding a Single player aspect to the game.

its like saying would you like slice of Pizza? or a Slice of pizza AND a burger. why wouldnt you want both? you still get the thing you wanted you just getting something else with it

It’s not like saying anything. The pvp doesn’t work right now. Once the PVP is clean, you can add other modes

I literally JUST killed a predator who was running away, and made the mistake of running over a dead boar, and it forced him into eating it. This also happened to me TODAY as well. What was promised has not been quite delivered yet. Once that’s all there we can talk about new modes

oh you ment focuss on fixing the game? yea i can understand that but you gotta understand that all of people are lossing Intress witht the game so you gotta try and Blance both of them…

and honestly at the moment… i would Prefer a big content Release over bug fixing and blancing, then after sure ok you can work on some issues but for the moment at least im bored and want something to keep me playing

Sorry Xeno but this post is stupid. It helps the wait times as they’re 15+ minutes on DLC drop days.

I wouldn’t mind a Offline Mode later on, but if a Offline Mode is our new mode, I’ll be peeved.

Plus you can play the game in less than 30 seconds. Just play Fireteam and play Predator later.

A story mode with illfonic’s god AI. I don’t get it either, OP waste of resources.

People hype it up in their head but they play through the campaign in 2 hours for the achievements and never touch it again.

As much as I hate to admit it, yes, Illfonic’s A.I just isn’t meant for a Story Mode. They were meant to be nameless Fodder like Pred 1 Goons. That isn’t a bad thing thematically, gameplay wise, yes could be better.

I don’t see any redemption for the money I’ve waisted on this game, sadly I’ve been sticking around in hopes something will change, I can’t bring myself to play another match as predator it just doesn’t feel the way a predator should. I also can’t play any more fire team matches, I’m no longer afraid of the predator, the missions are copy paste boring, and I have better things to do than run threw a jungle completing a mission while the predator can’t do anything to stop me.

Then that’s just a you problem. 40$ Game, don’t expect Triple A. What’s your issue with the feeling of Predator?

And if you’re feeling tired of the game, just take a break, we’re getting a real patch once City Hunter drops anyway.

My problem is that the predator is boring to play against.

Playing as the predator you should use Witt to overcome the fireteam. Sadly this game rewards nothing for Witt. Bear traps are no good after 5 seconds for example. If you make a mistake and step into a bear trap you should be gimp and slow moving it would break your leg. That’s not op, there are perks that spot it, and it’s escapable.

Okay, wear down FT with short hit and run tactics, use the environment, turn corners and wait for some idiot to turn and throw Combi-Stick at their face. Hit Explosive Barrels with Quickfire Plasma Bolts or even Handheld. Bear Traps are effective in the chaos of an ensuing battle yes, but even then they can use some work.

My question is, why go on a thread about “Story Mode” to rant?
