the problem is the frequencies.
pred stomping is low pitched sounds while clicking and purring are high pitched sounds, they don’t interfere and is easy to isolate them. the only thing that can happen is that the FT uses the UAV scanner because you used an audio decoy and we know you are around
Isolating a well placed leap land while audio decoys out,while FT has to fight off an alert I set off for them is pretty good ears.
It only takes one to have good ears… I’m an audio engineer. I know where the pred is easily by sound because is a natural thing for me to detect subtle sound variations.

From my experience, keeping the laser hidden behind cover while charging has got nearly the same effect as dithered lens. Since the perk costs of dithered lens were increased that much, for many classes, dithered lens is too expensive for its benefits.
Against a skilled fireteam, dithered lens does not allow spamming the plasma caster safely. They will detect the source, no matter if dithered lens has been chosen.
Indirectly hitting fireteam members with fully charged plasma caster shots is indeed highly effective. Moreover, it provides a safe way attacking them, even skilled players go down this way.
