At that time. Now i feel like they are closer together since religion is losing followers and theyd rather not alienate people even more with infighting.
I am leaving the Forums
Saint Dutch of the masses (muscle masses) 💪🏽😇
disagree. I don’t think Churches are this center of power they used to be thanks to several reforms, but theres still no atheists in foxholes.
Religon is inherent in our attempt to rationalize death and existence, as natural as your life flashing before your eyes. Not neccessarily organized religon but you get what i’m saying. Its like saying we have no philosophies anymore just because cell phones and computers exist instead of philosophers.
You know what I mean, governments adore people that don’t question anything.
Agreed. But at least there are semi-solid rules in the society and some societies are meleable enough for everyone’s benefit. Let’s say it’s religion 2.0
Essentially yes. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss
You may be right. What i said is what I’d expect to happen but it may not be so.
One party rule and lack of free speech and democracy is essentially religious, except in name.
They don’t care about atheism, they just want to restrict power from consolidating outside of the government.
Kinda. Society allows for changes and that’s good enough for me. Religious institutions are forced to change. That’s my selling point.
No they name it lol
The faith of communism
Their leaders are dieties
Or at least portrayed as such
Societies are forced to change as well. America is sorta in the process of that right now
Unless their name is Christopher Hitchens.
Arnie protecting Jesus 😎
Ok, but it feels different. Changes in society are for the benefit of the people. Changes in organized religion are for the benefit of religion.
Any existing power structure is going to maintain the status quo until something comes along and shakes it out. applies to everything. Money moves change.
Lobbying moves laws. Slavery didn’t even come down to the “benefit of people.” The economy anywhere isn’t even to the “benefit of people.” Everything is a ladder system, its the only way we work on a large scale. Mechanisms of control are just that.
If your ego is bigger than death than more power to you I guess?
Not always

True. It might just be a more humane system of control. For me when it comes down to it, society makes sense while religion doesn’t. If you understand the system you can enact changes and predict outcomes. At some point if you dig into religion it just breaks down. It’s based on faith, and while it can be good for an individual, i think it’s a terrible system for the masses
Also true. Still, its a system that makes sense and has layers. It can work and good can come out of it, while religion will break down at some point where logic meets faith
You’d rather deal with all the phg glitched then this, huh? 😁
