I know it might “feel” like a win if you don’t get killed in the blast, but you didn’t complete the mission… Just because you lived doesn’t mean you won. This is why you have the disarm minigame…

That’s fair… I mean, it doesn’t feel like a loss when you’re still alive and they’re dead… Maybe if they change the music to something more depressing it would drive the point home.

Neither team wins and it should be noted as such, like the pred’s a failure and the FT sucks and Zeus would be disappointed in them for also being losers who can’t defuse an alien bomb.
I can’t imagine why they cared so much.

Last match; killed one and claimed his skull, killed another with bomb. They didn’t complete their mission, they didn’t exfil, they didn’t get my mask or my body. It’s a win for Yautja Prime, fuck Fireteam.

It’s pretty well established lore that the preds resort to their bomb as a way to retain honor when they are defeated. You might surmise that he “failed” in the hunt… However the idea was probably taken from the practice of seppuku of the samurai. He fought worthy prey and instead of having his body and tech taken, (bringing dishonor to his clan) he makes a lasting mark on the planet in the form of a crater while simultaneously erasing his own presence… Laughing about it no less. Pretty fucken metal if you ask me.

Yeah… I wasn’t gonna say they sucked on their stream, but I figured he should know a bit more about the game he’s playing.
I know the lore and respect it I meant in the context of this game to see who wins or loses depending on the conditions otherwise you’d have to explain the lore every damn time somebody says we beat you as they all run away from the explosion or turn to ash in a crater.
The fact that it doesnt count like a win , doesn’t necessary mean that it’s a win for pred, it can be a draw. And btw you can jump outside the map and ft cant defuse your bomb, or just do it at the start of the game and ft will be on the other side of the map. I think it’s a draw in the game role. For my point of view is obv a win for ft unless pred kill them all.

Yeah, I do like how there are different winning/losing conditions, they should make things a bit more clear. I mean, I had a game the other night where it came down to the last few minutes or so, and one FT escaped, but I got second winded and elected to detonate the bomb to kill the 3 others who chased me. The chopper left them, I blew up and killed all of us. Technically I lost because one dude got away, but I also had a “Self destruct successful” end cinematic and credits… So I could take it as a win, loss or a draw if I was going by “feeling”… Was a great game none the less. @JelouGaming can vouch, he;s the one who got away. So it was definitely a win in his book I’d wager.

Theres a very large flaw with that condition. I’m going to go to the edge of the map, let the timeout down me, and then blow myself up.
Now you could say that particular situation is a FT win. But thats an extreme. What about geting downed and then running on top of a roof (which wouldn’t give the FT enough time) what if you get sniped across the map? Would a good shot be punishing an FT?
Now you could say there are exceptions but, who decides that? Because at that point things start to become subjective, and when you have an entirely subjective argument with 2 sides needing to agree you get fights. And thats not good for a community.
Besides what about the blast radius? Whats the point of a blast radius if you lose anyways? To lose less? That doesn’t make sense. Not to mention from a pred perspective you didn’t get your prey.
And as to the logic of you didn’t finish your mission…
Theres a giant alien crator. Theres going to be a huge OWLF force on site investigating. If that doesn’t stop Guerrilla and Stargazer activity in the area I don’t know what will.
As to the streamer he might of thought you were trolling and blocked you for it.

There are scenarios where you will not have the time to defuse a bomb period. So your adding a bit of RNG to the scenario.
Nah, it doesn’t matter if the detonation was successful. If the predator is dead at the end of the match, that’s a win for the fireteam.
