I ordered a RTX 2080 Super for 1080p 60

I have an RTX 2060, overclocked to within an inch of its life, and the details i like to run games in means that a lot of newer titles are not running as id like them too even in 1080.

I like to turn details up beyond their max, mod games and make them look as good as possible, install high res texture packs etc and I play StarCitizen.

I paid more for the 2080 super than it cost at launch (covid/supply etc) and the only reason i got it is because amazon let me pay monthly for it with no interest. (did the same with my projector etc)

Im going to keep it till Ampere ‘refresh’ (super or whatever they will call it - not the first release) and then pass the 2080S on to my daughter along with my PC (R5 2600x - 32gb 3400 cl14 - NVME SSD)

(she currently plays roblox and rainbow6:Siege on her budget laptop) -

I will build a Ryzen 4000 series system with Ampere. Wondering if there will be a X670 to replace the x570… for DDR5 etc

What RIG are you running and are you planning on upgrading soon or waiting? -

Lets talk rigs and PC nerd stuff…

no one cares bud go tell ur friends in real life

If you want to team up in star citizen ,last time i was there i was able to break in every single ship with atmosphere.
I have merlin little ship too for piratin stuff lol
Tho i play predator with everything as low as possible with draw distance to max for more fps

yeh im still waiting for 3.9 to be a little more stable before i go back to playing it more. but I can add you on there for sure

i7-8700k / GTX 1070. Still going strong. it seems to have no issues running this title at 1080 @ 60fps even though it is a few years old now.

For an upgrade, I am waiting until something bigger comes along, or at least something worth upgrading to in the same price range. The RTX cards are not enough of a draw vs. the cost for me.

just wait for the 3rd generation, that’s what I’m waiting for

i7 8700k + RTX 2070 Super. Would only switch for a 2080ti, but it’s not worth it… not yet.

Indeed, bro. The 2070 Super works so good and costs a lot less than a 2080ti. For me, it’s the best cost/benefit imo.

Yeah thats true

ah ok. well it will come saturday or before so ill have to see.

Yeah since i have a 2060 and its running as fast as a 2070 from the overclock i didnt see it as a big enough upgrade to a 2070s… and i couldnt get a Ti on credit so i just went for the super.

If i get a year or more out of it before ampere then pass it to my daughter then ill be happy

Yep, you already have a nice GPU. Only a 2080ti would make a big difference from what you already have it.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Cores

Speaking of Ryzen 4000 series. Im not sure if thats going to be the one to get either. That will be the last gen to support AM4. So there will be no upgrade path like there has been for AM4.

AM5 will be ryzen 5000 and on.

I dont want to upgrade to x570 for ryzen 4000 for it to only last 1 generation.

I may just stick with my x470 and go for a 3800x later on, keep my 2080 super and then upgrade everything for ryzen 5000, ddr5, PCIE4, ampere (super etc) in 18months or whatever.

Been sitting with a 980Ti and i7 for about 4 years now. Been pretty content with it since most games I play don’t really push for power these days.

Yeah my GTX 1080m on my gaming laptop still crushes games, haven’t felt the need to upgrade it yet. And before you say gaming laptop?? I am in the army and spend lots of time away from home, it’s kinda hard and stupid to pack a desktop to Afghanistan…
