I THINK WE'RE SCREWED

I will be the first to admit that I totally did away with my process on buying games when it came to this one boys and girls because I’m such I huge fan of the Predator ip.

Was reading through the forums of all the complaints and arguments which I must admit was entertaining but I kept seeing the same argument to give the developers time and patience because they’re a small development team. So it dawned on me “well what other games have they made”. My naive ass was thinking they had a gem like cuphead, like why else would they get such a awesome ip to work on .

Jesus Christ they made F13 which ended in disaster and died prematurely. Dead alliance was absolute trash. Nexuiz was not even remotely as good as Xonotic. Lastly evolve shouldn’t a badge of pride when it was just abandoned and killed off. Obviously they specialize in asymmetrical PvP but at the same time are not very good at making asymmetrical PvP titles.

All I’m saying is that the release of PHG is nicely following their track record of lack luster games. Also illfonic is a “small development” team because they have been putting out absolute dog shit and can’t increase capacity due to lack of revenue . Really saddening that they somehow got their hands on this ip.

But if you’re one of those people who don’t like when people complain about a week old game because they didn’t spend enough, then I commend you for being able to be fed dog shit while still staying grateful.

It’s definitely a game that has much more potential and a lot more stable out the door then F13 was. If you took more time finding vids on YouTube and not just looking at the forums where there’s always drama for any game, then you may have able to see that. If it didn’t interest you then why bother making an account?

Seeing a lot of trash talk but not a lot of substance. The only thing worth even bothering to address is the part where you disregarded the fact the game has been out a week. Ok. Not saying that excuses the problems but given they have done two patches which have had impacts on these issues, albeit after the second patch the first patch was slightly undone, but… are you stupid or something?

So, a company that isn’t perfect doesn’t release a game that is perfect upon launch and within a week after, even as they had made substantial changes that have helped considerably, and we’re just gonna ignore that? Stick your head in the sand and act like there’s not even a chance of there being something worth acknowledging? I’m not even saying this game is gonna be awesome or they are gonna keep getting better with it even though I have played Ark which has a slightly smaller dev team that hasn’t fixed game breaking mechanics with put all your complaints to utter FUCKING shame where legit mesh raiding was as easy and frequent as changing your socks not to mention bugs and glitches which literally delete your characters and shit and the game is still
50 bucks after release, down 10 bucks as of last year. Comparing it in that light, Illfonic is kicking serious ass by contrast.

Now this isn’t to say it is perfect, it still needs work. You find me a game that doesn’t have all kinds of glitches and stuff upon release or even just DLC packs from much larger companies and such and I’ll show you footage that proves you’re a liar. Yeah. It’s gonna have problem. So far, I have no reason to believe these will not be addressed because something something F13. Of which everyone says there all these issues with to this day that I have never once seen. Now will they? I don’t know. Only time will tell. Am I holding my breath? No. Am I working on my next smear article about why this is a game doomed to fail? No.

Why? Because I’m not some over-reactionary twat with unreasonable standards that can never be pleased. First patch helped the matchmaking, pretend it didn’t happen because it still has some issues. Second patch addressed balance and glitches, pretend it didn’t happen because it’s not perfect. We like to call this confirmation bias in that you already have an opinion and you aren’t interested in actually finding out if you are right or wrong but simply cherry picking, although you didn’t even do that, information that confirms your bias and ignoring the rest.

Bottom line, if you are gonna have a hate boner for a game that just released from a company you hate then and you are gonna hate anything they put out regardless… why the fuck are you even here? Because you want to further that confirmation bias by trying to convince people they hate it too so you feel like you are right.

Same. I shoulda listened to the reviews. Maybe it’ll be great in a month or maybe I relearned a valuable lesson.

Thank you for taking the time what so many of us are thinking, the quickest way to silence people with this kind of attitude is just dont even feed it let them know they are right and should refund the game and move on with their lives.

Oh man i think i hit a nerve. I guess the only thing worth bothering to address is the only point you have contention for. You have no argument that their track record is trash because its ridden with prematurely dead titles.

Now the two patches we have received could be a good sign that this game has a near future but nothing more. But still they cant fix the main problems that being you have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to be the Predator in a game called Predator Hunting Grounds, and there is no depth to this game. Once you get everything thats it. With that being said one can appreciate their timely patches but lets not pretend that putting out quick launch patches is something only unique to Illfonic.

You asked if im stupid or something but then go on to compare Ark to PHG. How in your mind did you make that connection? Like that was a deep reach. Ark was in early access for years so people inherently knew what they were entering into. PHG had a small beta test. Ark is a open-world survival game that has a pvp, pve, and singleplayer modes. PHG is a asymmetrical pvp that has one game mode unless you count the tutorial (which you might with this reach). Lets quickly mention Arks AI that actually poses a threat, structure building , and dino tames. What im saying is Ark had many facets to lean on that PHG doesn’t.

Calling someone a over-reactionary twat is kind of hypocritical when you write a response longer than the original statement/opinion. But i am amused by your contradictions of “AM i holding my breath? No” and “Illfonic is kicking serious ass”. I didnt have a hate boner for the development team i just simply looked at the solid evidence that is their track record. If you choose to ignore that then all the power to you.

Bottom line is you get extra commendation for not only being grateful for the dog shit they have fed you but the willingness to come and defend that dog shit. Congratz my man you a true trooper

I like you man such a hilarious guy… or girl who knows right?

F13 didn’t die, it’s still very active. However it’s development was cut short because of the court case. They were forced by law to halt making new content for the game. So, they continued making fixes and balance changes up until their next IP, which is Hunting Grounds.

The game hasn’t even been out for two weeks and has received 3 patches. There’s more work to come, as well as more content. To say we’re screwed is simply overdramatic, at least in my opinion. Illfonic doesn’t have a gigantic portfolio, but between PHG and F13 it’s apparent that they appreciate little details and source material. Which is something I really appreciate.

The team IS incredibly small, and they still put in some significant work in a small amount of time. Plus, they’re STILL going. If it’s not your cup of tea, that’s fine. But I’m having a great time with it. I loved F13 as well, though I’ll admit that its development being cut short because of the court case is so incredibly unfortunate.

I am in all honesty happy the you have found fun within the titles. Glass half full is a great outlook on life and i will be sure to strive for it.

I mean sure thats one way to look at it. I have friends who still have a blast F13 and still play it.

Be honest with yourself, who else is going to give you a Predator or Alien game? What publisher would risk their money. How many titles came and failed? Cult classics or fun times but nothing majorly succeeded out side of AVP on PC? (Anyone can correct me on that)

Alien isolation was amazing but no one bought it when it needed to be bought, so it went into a dust bin. Its an amazing and really well polished. But it didn’t support a second one sales wise. I am guilty but because I heard about Marines but never heard about Isolation but when I bought it for 5 bucks on sale I wanted to write Creative Assembly a heart felt apology for not buying it full price earlier.

Alien Colonial Marines is self explanatory.

I doubt there’s no shortage of studios that would tackle the project but no publisher would back the project. With fair reason.

Yes the game is buggy and unstable. My friend who played F13 told me that F13 probably had it worse because experience.

Is it unplayable? I don’t think so, buggy yes but I haven’t run into game breaking things not that they dont exist but I play alot everyday.

Shortage of content absolutely, we definitely need way more.

Does Voodoo feel like a survivor squad? Often yes when your team is good and the Predator is good.

Does Predator feel like Predator? Absolutely. Its a PVP game so I knew to tone back my movie expections but fuckin hell did they nail the feeling.

This is what you got, this is all you’re probably going to get. I’m not telling you to support this game and them but trashing it and them won’t get them to make it better either. Why knock em down while they’re trying to fix it?

Write and petition any major studio and their publishers, ask them to take the project, watch them take the letter and wipe their ass with it and go back to their money making projects.

With your responses I’m really not sure why you even bothered creating a thread other than to throw a tantrum of some form.

we gone

This better get fixed and keep going…or i want refund…i love predator and this could be awsome

I was trying to be sincere but lets be honest you can say “its development was cut short” but thats just another way of saying the game is dead. But its good that you can find solace in half-cocked games, than again there are people who claim rocky mountain oysters are the best cut of meat. The general population doesn’t take them to seriously. But have a good day homie

its absolutely hilarious to think your comment is going to make any difference ,
well thx for giving me opportunity to use my Ashe meme

… Its development WAS cut short because of the ongoing Crystal Lake Entertainment court case that stopped it in its tracks. Look it up. A lot of the community left the game as soon as they found out new content wasn’t coming.

Has nothing to do with “solace in half-cocked games”, Sure, I’m enjoying it, but I never said it was 10/10 or perfect. But if you knew about the jank that came with Friday The 13th and the lack of a portfolio, what outcome were you really expecting with Hunting Grounds? I’m just trying to understand the real purpose of making an account for a game made by a developer that “puts out absolute dog shit”, sounds like a waste of
your time.

But whatever man, hope this got you whatever attention you were looking for. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So the community left and the development was cut short. What warped reality are you living in where that aint dead lmao. If you read the og post you would know i didnt know of their portfolio but i can tell your attention to detail is at best abysmal.

There is no grand scheme or mission with my post. I just simply have a shitty game on my hands that i can not refund during a pandemic= time to kill especially with these queue times. Plus i saw a lot of shitty arguments. But as long as everyone is in agreement they have a portfolio filled with dog shit im good.

That had absolutely nothing to with it do you think the lawyers were working on the game or something? The problem with this game much like many that are released today is that it was not made with today’s generation of gamers in mind. How they play thing’s today you know always looking for glitches or exploits to win, the easy way basically they didn’t idiot proof it enough

I can say with conviction no one knew what the hell you were on about. But i like the ambiguous angle you got going.
