Idea and opportunity for Illfonic to be more than just a Video Game studio.

Hey, I just came up with an idea of a service for you guys over at Illfonic.

As the world struggles with crappy stuff like NFT, lootboxes, bitcoin and other ways of making cash. You guys can develop a niche to actually be unique in this sense and be more creative, inspiring and original about it.

I suppose there are plenty of fans of different franchises here that would love to see their characters come to life or actually materialize?

On the Illfonic side:

What if you guys create some sort of an easy plug-in for the game or engine where you can afford for the characters (overall) that are customized in the game to be 3D printed and painted over at the studio by your talented artists (or a team of selected artists) and be able to organize a competition in order for the selected profile (customized cheracter) to be sent to the winner? That would be a neat way to attract and connect to the community on a whole new level.

On the general view:

I am talking about a neat idea for Illfonic to be able to organize competitions of all sorts as well as set up limited edition events where the community could actually give / send / export their characters via something as rudimentary as the profile settings file and be able to get their favorite characters and customized models to actually be 3D printed and painted and for them to be able to receive it via shipping to the winner addresses.

After all, who wouldn’t just want a painted statue out of numerous materials and ways in terms of raisin and other more environmentally friendly as well as recycled materials? It would be every fan’s, nerd’s, geek’s and gamer’s, and dev’s dream Come true. (3D printing is the future after all)

Differnt variations, different ways to print it, different resolutions and detail levels, and different paints combined with the ultimate touch and creativity of the player/fan. Hell, you can even do charity and donation events as well as give the ammount or sum from these figures or statues to a cause out there.

Well, is a business and being part of the community is best to encourage, give ideas and influence it along with the community for good practices and unique and neat approaches towards the fans (also as clients).

If they would be smart and get a hold of a good idea and opportunity delivered freely in terms of concept, would be great and probably resonate with many aside a good and quality business strategy or plan.

Extracting/Inserting models and textures from a public game engine in itself is a copyright abomination, not even worth the potential legal hassle which is why it’s largely vanished from every AAA title minus Skyrim and they tried to monitize that on their private engine too. Notable example: Blizzard’s asset crusade.
But moreso because Illfonic doesn’t actually own this game or the IP, you pseud.

Just erodes control away from the person holding the patent, there aren’t solid laws in place for 3D printing, same for the crypto trends you have the audacity to moan about.
It’s ironic how easily people can get up in arms about NFT trading card auctions, but not something that provides a potential market of essentially counterfeited items.

Before you start calling out the idiocy in your head and terms like that, you should be aware that the game, as a product is a creative and artistic work in itself by Illfonic as a studio and it’s employees. If they wish to make a plugin (or any proprietary alteration or modification to the software or engine) as well as to download and 3D print assets that they made, they own and they used even via a game engine, as a company, is in their right to do so. They hold the rights of use of the franchise as well as characters. And is something that “experts” like you dismiss or have no clue of.

Based on your stupid reasoning, different versions and alteration or derivates from the main engines out there on the market, that have become proprietary in their own ways…are illegal, and they are not. Your statement shows that even my dog knows more about gaming and engines more than you do…let alone laws of fair use.

Where did I say public engine plug-in? When I mentioned for Illfonic to have that and do that trough events as a limited edition thing, on their end? (3D printing things in their studio and hand them out trough events)
