IllFonic Says: PHG’s is coming to Xbox along with Updates.

You don’t know how research works, do you?

Applied sciences such as physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, chemistry, design, ergonomy, engineering, math.

Those are not statistics.

It’s fine, you don’t want to admit you were wrong with the game, swallow your ego and pride because it’s a fact.

All the data they collected is groups and statistically evaluated. Look at any research paper and you’ll see a lot of math done to the raw data. That’s statistics. You need statistics to see how reproducible your results are and how they compare to similar research.

It’s not ego. I did research in college, I read research papers. Just look at a full research paper and read the results and discussion sections.

You did research in college? Cute.

When it comes to technicalities, your so called statistics have nothing if there is no trials of applications in whatever field of applied sciences you may operate.

What kind of research did you do? Gender studies?

Yes it is, you were wrong, like many Muppets on this forum.

Where is Fire now?

Plating of metals into cathode electrode in various media (chemistry) and potentials. Ran hundreds of trials to see what produced most consistent and stable results. Used statistical analysts to analyze data ranges and calculate confidence interval.

Same stuff can be applied to gender studies. Let’s say they take a look at how kids took to hormone therapy or transition surgery. They pool data and analyze stuff complication due to procedures, mental state post procedures, happiness with decision, age of patient, family support, etc. all of this is done with statistics.

This stuff has been around for decades. I’m not saying anything controversial here.

The flaw in statistics is not only the exceptions but also the particularity of each case and also test case, be it trial and error.

You’re not the only one who worked in metals, by the way.

Still, statistics is everywhere from science to business. If it was so flawed we wouldn’t be using it. It allows us to access risk and degree of confidence.

The one problem I have with statistics is evaluation of risk factors. It’s as good as the risk factors being considered, but if we are unaware of a certain important risk factor and it’s not evaluated for in the study, the results will focus only on risk factors in question and may initially lead to less effective actions taken. I’m not explaining it well, but basically you can’t evaluate for something that is not accounted for so erroneous conclusions are made which lead to erroneous actions until a better study/conclusion is reached.

Statistics are only used as a side note for orientation.

You hold statistics in too much high regard it seems and I hope you don’t do so in real life with different things.

They are flawed and when it comes to stupid examples like the one with Las Vegas that you gave here, the house always wins not only because of the system of gambling or of a casino. Places like Las Vegas as a gambling hub works because of things such as money launder.

You have to be aware of the hard, scientific, harsh and cold reality to realise that and to cut the bullshit.

Statistics were used to test safety and effectiveness of vaccines and medication in general. Covid and flu is a bad examples, but look at MMR, Hep A/B, Pneumo, DTaP etc. Look at safety of medication. Yes, there are side effects, but there are acceptable limits. Same for effectiveness.

Look at businesses evaluating their quarterly productivity, expenditures, sales. I had a quarterly meeting at work today. Half of it was comparing current situation to previous year and such. They use statistics from previous years to zero in what sells, to whom, at what price ranges, how much to invest into advertisements and trade shows (quantitatively and not 'well obviously you need to get the word out or noone will know about you) and it goes on and on.

You jumping and hopping into different fields even in medicine doesn’t prove that statistics are in any way forms of exact science or highly reliable. Statistics are exactly what exact sciences are not. That being exact.

You fail the exercise of thinking. Train your mind more and learn or study philosophy as a whole.

Murphy Junior and his laws, have entered the chat, bitchslapped you and left in a hurry.

Everything we do irl has error. Theoretical sciences can only take us so far when it comes ti putting them into practice. That’s were statistics come in. The allow us to determine degree or error and confidence in our decisions.

Businesses of any kind rely on different and multiple ways. For w business to work you simply rely on supply and demand in order to deliver a product.

Supply and demand are met with consulting the different parts that make your business work. In this case being consulting directly the customers simply in the form of the market. The market shows you everything you need to know you just have to tap into it.

Ok. You made your point, I made mine. Agree to disagree

That’s what you don’t understand. It’s the knowledge, testing, craft, planning and production that help you most in applied exact sciences. They offer relevant data, not your statistics. In science you need reliability.

@Anyt1m3
@Ferdigian
Looks like you’ve got this thread Derailed.

Just wanted to pop in and say, if they fix the Fanatic Exploit, I’ll give it a shot.

If it turns out that their just releasing the same game on Xbox for more money, they can F off.

Well, you are a dreamer)) you are happy like a little girl)) they wrote that they will add Xbox, maybe they will change the balance a little, and add new skins for predators and that’s all, and then you will cry again and say that illfonic are so bad))

Annnnnnd we are back to the semi-toxic behavior it seems, not even a day… yay
