IllFonic Says: PHG’s is coming to Xbox along with Updates.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but most asyms are killed by balancing issues right?

I disagree. I don’t think KKFOS had the chops for that. Even when it was made it was a one off “fuck it it’ll be fun” type thing.

No one asked where they came from or why they were or any of it. Literally just a one shot of preposterousness that shined

Was looking for their game sales numbers, but couldn’t find a comprehensive site. Here’s some data on their activity

Balance and support, typically. Certain things like bugs, exploits and glitches don’t get fixed, and with every update tweaks are made that either buff or nerf characters, weapons, effects, etc. and the balance shifts between (using Evil Dead as an example) Demon or Survivor, making the game essentially one-sided, until the next patch where it shifts back due to the devs trying to rebalance things. And that’s really the goal for asyms, to find that perfect balance, but its SO hard to do. I’ve always felt the antagonist needs to effectively be stronger than at least one or two protagonists at all times, so there’s no soloing and it keeps the lore that the antagonist is always stronger. But when the protagonist team works together, that’s when they become stronger and can win the round. But finding that exact balance between the two that’s comfortable between players is the problem.

How do you believe they should re-balance PHG in order to fit this, do you have any thoughts, things to remove, add? I’m just curious cause the spot the game is currently in it seems like it would take an entire rework of the game to actually fix the balance.

Hopefully they add more weapons and equipment as well as new biomes and missions

A whole rework wouldn’t be necessary, its just a matter of changing values of certain things in the code. They’ve done it before. But in terms of weapons and damage output, for FT the SAWZ and 1101 need to be toned down, dramatically. It shouldn’t take 5-6 sniper shots to down a Pred. Hammerhead too, just a little bit. Parrying and knife attacks should be brought down a bit as well, especially with how you can stack Dutch 87 and Isabelle’s melee damage buff with various perks that will waste Pred health in seconds. The rest of the weapons should stay the same, save maybe the plasma ones should get a buff. For Predator, most of the weapons already feel balanced, save for the axe and disc. Axe still has that bug where it stacks damage from missed swings, and just by default the damage is ridiculous and needs to be brought down. Slow the attack animation as well. I think one of the other biggest things is Pred health; it needs to be brought up, by a lot. I’ve seen custom private games where they kept the FT the same but raised Pred health by about 120% or so and it was a lot more fun for the Pred to play. You could take risks, you could try new tactics, and you could actually engage up close with melee, without the fear of being melted in seconds. There are numerous other examples of what would balance the game out better, but these are the biggest ones off the top of my head. I know other who have spent more time analyzing and spreadsheeting the values would suggest more.

God I like you lol

All that is fair if FT plays as a team or at least knows how to play 4 solos well. If FT is a bunch of potato’s then melee pred will wipe them in a minute or so. That’s the biggest obstacle to buffing pred and nerfing FT. They should literally have top 10 FT tips spelled out for new players

Therein lies that problem of balance. Illfonic listened to the people complaining about Pred being too strong/FT too weak and made it so one skilled FT player could solo a Pred, god forbid you get four of them together. Yes the buffs help new players, but get four experienced people together, it becomes impossible for the Pred. So what do you do? If you buff Pred weapon damage, you can beat premades better but potatoes are wrecked in an instant. Buff Pred health, premades have a harder time killing you but potatoes will barely scratch you. Or do you lower FT damage and keep Pred values as they are? No matter what, you’re not going to make everyone happy and people will complain. There will never be “balance”, as it were.

Thanks. I like me too.

That’s why FT has to put in the time to learn how to play. Pred is solo and only responsible for self. FT has to rely on each other.

NO NO, never buff Fireteam, in fact Predator needs to be buffed, FT nerfed. Exact reason why I don’t play Predator at all and many others.

I believe this summarizes this well enough

It’s a rough job and there’s a whole hell of a lot to it. I’m just a mechanic but needed the class A to work.
Hit me up you want/Need to talk about it
