Initiation mode idea

Now before I get into this I will make this very clear. I’m not asking for this mode and I don’t ever expect it to happen because I know Xenomorphs are a touchy subject. This is just a fun discussion about what an AvP mode could be like if it ever made its way to the game. Anyway, into the details…

Name: Initiation
Max Players: 3
Map: Antarctica temple, other temples throughout the franchise.
Description: Play as one of 3 young blood Yautja undergoing an initiation to become bloodied by clearing a xeno hive and hunting down the legendary xeno queen.

When you choose this mode you’ll be given three options: Solo, Duo, and Trio. This will let you choose how many people you want to play with.

At the beginning of the match a cutscene will play where a massive ship flies over the area and drops 3 pods down. The predators will exit the pods and head towards the temple.

So my idea for this mode is to have it be based off the 1st AvP movie where the Predator brothers have to clear the hive and earn their casters and defeat the xeno queen to become blooded.

So what will the gameplay be like. Well, there will be 3 players max and all 3 will be predators. You can choose your own custom loadout but you’ll be restricted to just the wrist blades and gear items until later on, much like the movie.

You’ll be clearing waves of AI controlled Xenomorphs as you make your way deeper into the temple. When you get to a certain point you’ll come across a sarcophagus where you’ll be able to retrieve your plasma caster. There will be more where you can unlock the rest of your weapons as the match goes on too.

There will be no respawns so once you die you can’t come back but you’ll still be able to heal of course.

And then you get to the final section of the temple where there are a lot of xenos and of course, the deadly queen. She will be a tough opponent that will require teamwork and strategy to take down. But once you do, the 3 players will be able to claim her skull and win the match.

At the end a cutscene will play where the remaining predators will walk towards the top of the temple, dragging the xeno queen’s skull and stand high in a pose while holding their weapon and let out a victory roar as the ship flies above them to pick them up.(although it will be different for Antarctica’s case as the temple is underground/ice). And if a predator was killed during the match one of the other predators will carry their mask in the victory screen.

However if you lose, a different cutscene will play. One where the temple blows up, killing all of the xenos, after you detonate your self destruct if you manage to do it successfully and only the last remaining predator can self destruct. And another where the hive of xenos escape from the temple if you fail in self destructing.

Just as a fun bonus you’ll also be able to perform executions on xenos and claim their skulls for bonus xp.

Something that will keep you wanting to play this mode will be challenges that are tied to it that give you exclusive rewards like the makeshift Combistick scar made (the one with the xeno tail). So for example “Kill X amount of Xenos only using the Combistick to unlock makeshift Combistick variant” and “Complete a match of initiation while solo to unlock Yautja Cape”.

So that is my idea for a mode that will go well with the Scar DLC just as Gauntlet will go well with the Mr. Black DLC. Again I don’t ever expect this to happen nor am I asking for it but it’s just a fun idea and if it ever did happen, it would be a really cool way of having a mode tied to the 1st AvP film and the Scar predator we’re supposedly getting.

I had an idea for an AVP game mode

It looks better if you click the little arrow on the top right 🤣

I like the idea. Reminds me of the AvP 2010 days. Too bad I never played much of the online though.

Same here

You lost me at xeno. you guys will get an AvP game soon enough

And AvP without colonial marines is garbage.

Which is exactly why I put this. And I’m not saying they should definitely add it. I’m just saying if they do then this idea would be the way to go imo.

We know there is a .000001% we’ll ever get anything Xenomorph related

We are just talking about our ideal game mode if Illfonic or another company were to make AVP content

Idea for HG: AvP Mode: Part 1: Basics and Enemies.

Predator Players will each be forced to choose a specific class and there can not be a single instance of the same Predator Class. Obviously, JH isn’t a exception.

This will encourage the diversity of chosen classes, with their playstyles and how they translate to PvE.

Medi-Comps can be dropped for use by other Predators. Of course, there are no Pigs, so while going into a full blaze of Melee glory upon a wave of Xenos sounds cool, have fun asking someone for a Medi-Comp.

Xenomorph Types:

Drone/ Spitter: The most basic of their grown kind, but not to be trifled with. Alternative Drones will spit acid at you that can inflict a Acid DOT (Damage over Time) effect on you.

Runner/Boiler: Mosy commonly found in groups like wolves, these nimble yet fragile Xenomorphs will run you down faster than you can evade their bite. Better to deal with them from a distance. Alternative Runners will be Runners that will explode in a splashful of Acid close to you, given the chance.

Warrior/Guardians: The soliders of their kind, deadlier than the Drone workers. Alternative Warriors will be tougher and can even lead a wave of Xenomorphs toward a specific Predator Player if they so choose.

Praetorian/Crushers: The Royal Guard, you’re close now. Praetorians will constantly spawn in more Xenomorphs of lesser caste, so there must be collaboration in taking down. Alternative Praetorians lead their charges with ramming speeds.

Hybird/Abomination: Predalien Hybirds will utilize brutal methods to ensure your demise as Anti-Predator specialists. Plasma Resistance, Cannibalization by consuming Xenomorph Corpses, and even pounces that can lock a Predator in a stalemate where failure means death. Alternative Hybirds will identify a Predator Player with the most amount of Score, they will sorely focus on this player, meaning that the others will have to pick up the slack.

Queen/Empress: The Matriarchal rulers of their kind, and lead with absolute authority on the battlefield. They are able to lead whole charges of Xenomorphs regardless of the number of creatures present, making them dangerous up close. Alternative Queens will give all other Xenomorphs a Health or Damage Boost.

Part 2: Mode Mechanics and Predator Loadouts stuff

This Mode is obviously PvE based so we should have alternate modes.

Some Terms:
Youngblood: Easy Difficulty
Blooded: Medium Difficulty
Elite: Hard Difficulty
Ancient: Nightmare Difficulty
Legendary: Nightmare, but a Predator’s Death means instant failure.

“Xenomorph Hunt”: The Default Game mode for this AvP expansion. A squad of 3 to 4 Predators embark on missions pertaining that involve combating the deadly Xenomorphs.

“Survival”: A group of 3 to 4 Predators are condemned by fate to die in the shadow of a wave of their fearsome enemies. How long can you last against this apparently enternal horde? (Bonus Mala’kak Wave after facing a number of waves specific to the Difficulty Level.)

In both modes, Predators can utilize multiple exclusive gear items to use in addition to their usual gear items, these items will have their own slot and require no additional gear points.

Pred-Gun:
A automated Plasma Sentry Gun that fires large Plasma Bolts that blast apart their targets.

Equipment and Weapon Ammo Resupply Pod:
Call down a Drop Pod that can resupply a Predator’s Gear Items once per player.

Armor Resupply Pod:
Call down a Drop Pod that can resupply a Predator’s Armor Meter once per Player.

Mask Resupply Pod:
Call down a Drop Pod that can resupply a Predator with their Mask once per Player.

Alien Vision Mode:
Utilize a vision mode that can highlight Xenomorph Targets, and can appoint specific Xenomorph Types with Kill Marks with Target Isolation. (Works like Spotting in this Mode.)

Predator Armor:
Predators have a new Armor meter that is meant to handle any incoming damage that would normally harm you. Frequent rips and tears along with acid splashes will no doubt wear down your armor, so it is advisable to maintain it.

Those are interesting ideas and I would love to see something like that. But I think that would be best used in a full on AvP game rather than this game. Though I’m not opposed to seeing it in this game.

I still want another AVP game, or for the older Alien, Predator, and AVP games to get a port to current gen
