It’s called expansion. They can add it to to improve every aspect as well as add new things. Will that happen? Not likely but only time will tell.
Look how far rainbow six siege has come. Or dead by daylight. Or star wars battlefront 2.
After the obvious “why would you do this”, this is the main thought that comes up to my mind when I read these posts.
How the hell do you even think they would be able to pull this off in any decent way without, given the current trend, an unrealistically massive shift of resources specifically in that direction?

Its just an idea. That’s how things start, with ideas. If it gets enough traction someone might try to bring it to fruition. Illfonic be like, ‘this has glitches and bugs written all over it, but God help us were gonna do it’ 😂
They aren’t coming whether I like it or not lol. They are almost certainly NOT coming. I love Alien. But it has no place in this game. Period

Im really looking forward too seeing how the free trial will change things. Will the player base really grow, just as the new map and mode will be out. I hope illfonic is being strategic to grow player base instead of just cashing in on dlc from newcommers

I wouldn’t really be bothered if they did or didn’t add aliens. My point is these developers aren’t going to be able to do this satisfactorily from a technical point of view.
Also everything about the way this game was marketed points to it being a Pred vs Human experience only. If aliens were ever going to be in the mix they would have been in from the start.
This small studio was allowed a go at a Pred game, but the Alien IP is treated with a bit more care (though not always) as it’s a bigger money spinner.

Regarding the marketing
F13 was initially marketed as a different game granted it didn’t change post launch
DBD was marketed as original Killers yet here we are with a lot of licensed characters.
Same for fortnite. It wasn’t marketed as being able to be batman or deadpool
You don’t cash in on Dlc, it doesn’t normally recoup the cost of production. It works as a form of advertising to drive sales of the game.
On top of that it acts as a way to add content and keep your players base engaged.
I do hope so. Sorry if I’m doing this backwards but wanted to get the part that could be seen as negative over first.
Building an Asymmetrical genre player bases is very difficult, you have to both keep you’re current players engaged and attract new ones. It took Dbd two years to figure out they needed a 6 week pull, in between chapters.
As much as I like illfonic, they don’t seem to be aware of how best to do this. It’s a little bit of psychology, a dash of sociology and just a touch of animal training.

I agree. But right now it’s some munny or nothing. It’s a good time for a free trial as any. Maybe people will be interested enough to buy the game. And hopefully the dont come here before the buy it, or more likely that they will not buy it 🙂 having seen what the community is going through. Just the sight of all the JH posts 😂 j/k, but that is not going to get old any time soon

Just want to point out the fact that only 2/9 posters here in this thread don’t want xenos. Really only one.

It’s not pointless. There may be a hundred plus Pred’s they could add, but people will stop buying them.
This game actually needs Xeno’s for more than just Xeno’s. It needs to give FT players other targets than the Predator, and other content than weapons designed to kill the Predator.
If I had a crazy wall about the production of this game it would have a calendar timeline running across the top. At about the 4th or 5th Predator, there would be a notation about looking at how much dlc sales dropped when we get there but it would also assume that drop and look at how else we can keep players engaged. Xeno’s are actually a big one because it lets me fill at least 3 spots further up the timeline.
Face Hugger - lets start at the beginning. This is a threat to a single FT member. A creepy little AI that hides in ambush, trying to eliminate one member of the team by attaching itself. Predator can earn a trophy from killing and claiming it. A tally is kept during the event for bragging rights and the top 3, top 10 and top 100 get a trophy with an event shader. The standard match trophy could be a tail, and if you place in the event you get a full dead Hugger body as your trophy with skin denoting placement.
FT likewise can earn a cosmetic, a throat scar from being choked for getting saved and they’re own leader board for killing FH’ers. With the same setup as above. So FT can have some unique cosmetics too.
Second Event, can be a set number of Xeno’s (probably 5) these target individual compounds on the map, so 2 go to one and 3 go to another. They attempt to kidnap or kill AI or players as they encounter them.
A hive entrance is introduced and for every AI brought into it another Xeno is spawned. If you don’t stop them they will soon out number you and wash across the map in a tide.
Third Event - new map feature… under the map, there is now a hive you can enter. Inside is a Queen. This event doesn’t actually require FT players or Predator players to fight, they can of course but you might want the help as things are now very difficult.
Each event comes with its own small rewards and the chance for cool skins for those rewards. Everyone should be able to get the base awards but the drive to get the special ones add to the games grind in a good way. You’re in competition but indirectly and for very little work on the devs end, prize wise.

This game won’t be balanced until there are xenos…
I like the setup of the second event, trying to destroy the nest before Xenomorphs overrun the place. In the end it could be about destroying the nest or getting out in time after finishing the objective. If a lot of Xenomorphs appear, FT could have an option of deploying turrets perhaps as a means of temporary safety.
As dangerous as facehuggers are, perhaps pred can feed on them too. Either a means to survive or unleash them on FT as pred would be more safe from them with jumping.
