Yup. They should’ve just get rid of the “spectator mode” and bam! , problem solved.

the game allows you to spectate and switch between all live players, almost calling for it
and to top things off, If I remember correctly illfonic doesn’t even use in-game vc ON THEIR OWN STREAM and they use third party… the hypocrisy, if they did post that about F13, is abysmal

That’s crazy. Most competitive games put spectator mode 30 seconds to 1 min behind. Live spectator mode is definitely begging people to cheat.

The proximity chat is how it is in their games for a reason, dumb or not. PHG AMA never ever though
I do like that theyre one of the few asyims where killers can talk to survivors so I respect the design decision. Even went through the trouble of giving us sound bubbles in thermal and toyed with the idea of letting the pred playback player voices (there was a voice line playback button as a mimicry option in beta that didnt do anything if anyone remembers) but voice recording is a legal issue. Launch day/beta twitch chat was the closest this game ever got to actual dev communication, they actually answered my mimicry question wtf

I don’t see them using in game voice chat here so… seems like 5 years later whatever they thought was cheating no longer applies… unless they accept they are cheating as well
Then again, GunMedia is the publisher, not the developer. Where in the case of PHG, publisher is Sony. So… I don’t see how the whole “F13 using third party vc is cheating” thing even applies here

Just say you dont care about intended game design instead of trying to stretch the logic? No ones going to physically stop you from using discord or macros in DBD, ARMA, or some indie game like the Forest that uses radios and proximity chat - but obviously its shit etiquette and discords not a vanilla gameplay feature unless youre just being dense.

The devs should take into account third party coms and balance around it. Its mental that they don’t do so. I remember at one point my mic was busted and me and 2 friends just made a voice chat on our phones and talked. You don’t even need anything but a phone to do so and people will always use third party software to talk with friends.
