Is spotting really op?

Ok, so there are many posts that say that it is, or it isn’t. Im not gonna pick sides, Im not saying anything. I got video footage that I just recorded and uploaded on YT.

For me it looks that one or two reckons in the team are way too good at spotting. Even though the Predator in many occations is just sitting without moving. I’ve made up my mind. If you want to flame you can pick one of the thousand other posts. Im not gonna get into arguments. Draw your own conclusions.

Is it or is it not op based on this video footage?

(Before you say Im advertising my video or something, please, by all means dislike, dont watch or do anything you want. I made 99% of my videos private, because Im taking a break for college, Im not doing this for views or anything, all I want is opinions on the matter, the videos are for my own record. Channel is not active.)

Well other than just spamming spot on a branch to you actually spot him you also gotta look at the predator spotting. 99% of the time against a team that is feeling too pressured or is and just doesn’t care they are rarely unmudded. Due to that the predator can’t see crap compared to a fire team who is give way to much leeway as far as finding the predator.

The spotting and marking for the predator on the other hand is absolute trash. The fireteam is probably using suppressed weapons which means you can’t really hear them unless they run their mouths(litterly how I find most of them). The spotting needs to charge before someone is marked and the view distance and sight lines for it suckm. Of course once you get the mark it’s just instantly lost and can’t be obtained for another two two minutes.

Plus it is tied to your energy supplies. Which makes it even worse.

Yea it’s definitely op. Also you got stuck a few times on tree trunks. And at the end pred was visible but the plasma caster was cloaked. I haven’t seen that glitch before.

Yo that spot does not make the game fun. Can’t stealth and gotta keep your distance cause of spotting. No damage to FT. They get their objective and they dip. Bye bye pred lol

tree is usless, 90 pourcent of time because of this… Tree is only good for make an ambush

“Spot” is necessary for make Predator visible for teammates (its team game for FT). BTW Predator always notice when been marked.

yep its op plus considering his camo sucks. i can see him jumping running almost everywhere put the spotting thing where ever he goes more or less last location. spotting needs a change not like you need it unless your blind i suppose or a cool down on being able to spam it at least. i guess its kind of needed just not spammed as frequently as what we can now

This is OP. I will not argue, I will explain what the problem is. you don’t need to KNOW where the predator is exactly, you need to understand roughly the direction from which it is moving, and this is not difficult because of “CLICKKLIKKLKILK”, then you just need to press E in the direction where you heard it, let’s say 4 branches and 4 from below and with a probability of 80 percent you will fall on a predator. And if you get to the predator you give the whole team a wall hack on him. Now multiply this by what you showed on your video, the very first shot from a sniper rifle took you a little less than 1/3 of your health. This means that he will kill you in 4 shots after accidental detection. A label is a problem in the aggregate of all factors.

Spotting isnt OP, but spot-spamming is…

An easy fix would be to give all of the fireteam classes the same Cool down length. Or maybe even make spotting cool down a collective thing, so if for example Bravo spots the pred, Charly, Delta, and Alpha all have to wait for the cooldown to finish before any of them can use it again…

Even an ordinary spot is a very … strange thing, think about it, why does he give a wallhack? This is 3-4 seconds (yes, not 10-15 like in beta) but still, it is 3-4 seconds of a full wallhack per predator, why? as? Is there really not enough information for the detachment about the direction I’m in? Why give me a wallhack? So that a sniper can shoot me at 1/3 of my health every time I come up? Cool.

Yeah, spotting should just be the eye symbol… no more glowy red outline…

I would do a little differently. Let the team sniper track the predator, he takes perks on the difficulty of finding himself, smears himself with mud and hides, covering the strike squad, so the predator will first have to find the “support” of the team before attacking the main team.

exactly.

I feel like no spotting would be epic for the FT. Having to quickly and accurately call locations consistently and losing the predator in chaos would be authentic.

Guys you was never plays as FT (Predators main detected).FT dont spam ‘spot’. Only after visual contact.

Yes. But this will not work in a competitive game where everyone sees each other for the first time often. Tags are NEEDED. but not in such quantity and not with such realization.

“visual contact” in this case is any noise that does not look like an AI. So no, I do not agree with you, I play FT and if I hear extraneous sound from the direction I just throw marks there, 1-2 will get there.
