Is spotting really op?

I think Spotting needs to have a group cool down that can be used every so often once it actually locks onto the predator. When I play FT and i have most items at level 10, I enjoy the anxiety that comes with not really knowing where the predator is and having to hear and look around. It also forces you to communicate better with the squad.

My suggestion would be to either to have a group cool down added to spotting or Make it a perk or class specific for example Recon only.

Once or twice. Dude, get the fuck out of here with that downplaying shit, you know damn well “1 or 2 matches” is a grossly stupid estimate…
My XDB-12(DP-12) alone is level 8, almost 9. You cant do that in 1 or 2 matches… 🙄

Also, why would i level up my weapons to level 10?
I play a weapon until i unlock the next one then trade up.

Clearly, theres no sense in reasoning with you because you refuse to see reason…

Spoting should defintly go away, it would encourage more team work from the FT to actually have to call the coordinates of the pred.

The only problem with that would be people without headsets would be totally useless…
And YES, that would be our(people with headsets) problem too.

I think if they just slow down the cool down and remove the Red outline Wall Hack feature. The Spot-spam would stop being such a problem…

They should make it a perk or that only the recon can spot otherwise it’s too op if you are able to take out the recon they aren’t able to mark you like that anymore it would make for a better and harder gaming experience imo

That or a group cool down for example 45 seconds between each time you can mark the predator. You can still mark it with the Eye icon but the wall hack does not lock on.

Tbh i’m starting to run into these tryhard continuesly spotting and even when standing still for 3
minutes and they still shoot you with the sniper even when cloacked more often it’s kinda killing the fun for me.

Get rid of “ marking the predator” . I won’t play until it it fixed.

just the eye is all it needs for people to look in a certain direction. outlining the predator while cloaked… what a god awful game design decision. they balanced everything for lowest common denominator system and player skill. out of touch dev decisions.

they would just all run recon

yes. as soon as they get to an objective and they are oriented by hearing the predator chirping they know which branches to spot then boom your cloak is rendered useless by no fault of your own. they didnt think about how any decent gamer would play after a month.

do not remove predator sounds. remove spotting first. id support making cloak invis during crouch walk as well. whats the point if it is as visible but you are just slower…

I get this all the time.

Spotting should only be seen by the player who spots the Predator. So the player is the only one who sees the green spotted marker on the Predator. As the other team members we should only see the general location of where the predator was seen (sighting is marked with the “eye” icon). Then if any other fire team mate sees him they have the chance to spot him/her as well. so they get the marker

Looking at the first few minutes of your clip, I can easily say that you aren’t playing this game as you should. You are cloak crouching, which is as visible as running. You make a lot of noise standing in trees and you shoot arrows from the same location.

In our team we always have 1 player checking for the predator. Generally it’s me or a teammate. My entire role during any mission is to find you, and shoot you. Literally any clue you give me of your location, is enough for me to find you.

I don’t need the spotting mechanic, it’s there so everyone else knows where you are as well.

The only thing I can imagine is to remove the outline… but that will make scouts borderline overpowered because they are figuring out how to avoid damage. Perma stealth + bow and no spotting mechanics? Yeah… That isn’t overpowered at all. But well see, we won’t make that choice.

Let me say it like this, if you were up against a FT-member like myself. You’d be half health in every encounter. You aren’t playing stealthy, you are in trees way too much and you stand still way too much.

Everyone I hear crying about the spotting mechanic still doesn’t understand the game:

You gotta play like you don’t care you are spotted. You gotta start to understand that your cloak isn’t that great during a fight. You gotta start to understand that there will always be a player like myself who’s sole task is to find you, and shoot you. I’ll mark you only so you stay away. If I want you to engage us, I’ll mark near you hoping for you to take the bait.

Spotting definitely sucks for Preds but you are standing still and camping branches a lot. You need to adapt and be less…spottable. We try not to spot because Pred takes off and jumps around the second he’s notified… But we see him in the trees easily, call coordinates and unload. We are able to deal a ton of damage before he realizes what’s happening.

Short and truthful answer: Yes.
Why? You are at gun point wherever ,whenever.

I had to laugh at that response. As infantile as it was it cut right to the nub of how you feel.

Spotting could do with a change but it’s aim there that is destroying you. If it’s a 4 man PC team and they’re decent then you don’t have time to …well, do anything really. You have to get in, do some damage and get the hell out. I played some russians today and jesus christ it’s ridiculous the damage they were putting out.

That is complete garbage. I’ve been three trees outside of the objective, never made my presence known, hadn’t moved and been spam spotted.
