Scout Analytic with the Combistick & Smart Disc with Large Pouch, Medic (Or Down Range) & Impenetrable.
Or Cleo Stalker with the same weapons & Large Pouch, Medic (Or Down Range) & Adrenal Boost.
Elder works about as good as well, again basically same loadout as those two.
Hunter Tracker with Dithered Lens is also really strong but won’t have as good damage output but is the best at preventing Reinforcement & stops people from Hiding.
I can definitely win as predator just think it feels like far more effort I’m putting into it than when I’m playing fireteam lol

Fireteam requires zero effort to be “good” at. It is basically brainless shooting. All you need is good aim & a decent loadout. Predator requires a LOT of time & effort to get actually good at. It is an uphill battle constantly. Which makes it even weirder that MOST players are braindead & suck at FT. They have so many easy win tactics & options handed to them. Sadly to get good at Predator, ya HAVE to play Fireteam. Well, enough that you know their Spawn Points, Missions & where their Supplies & Reinforcement Radios spawn.

To hunt the prey, I must become prey. Yeh sounds like a good plan, these night maps really fucked me up so should try and familiarise myself with them.
One thing Ive noticed is that because FT can rush the mission and maps have become bigger, most preds no longer activate camp alarms. Even top tier players know how stupidly lethal retarded AI is. I don’t know why this trend stopped, i think AI now is not as actively going for camp alarms as they did before, but is definitely something that needs to come back, as by experience, i know for a fact when you have to fight hordes of AI it becomes increasingly difficult to fight the Pred at the same time.

Also Map Advantage is a thing.
Airstrip is the most favourable map for FT. Headquarters is the most favourable map for Predator. But generally you’re gonna have a harder time as Predator on maps such as Overgrowth, Excavation & Airstrip whilst maps like Derailed & Headquarters are easier for Predator than FT. Backwater just fucking sucks no matter what. Worst map in the game.
Always hated backwater. Derailed and overgrowth were my favourites.
and missions too
There are some long missions that will give a slight advantage to pred, such as the body inspections on Airstrip, Water pipe on Backwater, Toxic wastewater on Overgrowth, while missions like weapons truck on Excavation and Backwater are extremely short and favor FT heavily.

I don’t know why after almost 2 years people still complain about balance.
Everything has been said. All possible theories and solutions.
People still complain (nerf FT buff PRED) when if you know how to press buttons on the keyboard, you will win 99% of games as predator vs random lobbies. Not to mention the fact that some Pred builds are insanely OP (axe and smartdisc anyone?), so if you use those builds you will win 99,9% of games vs random lobbies or even mixed lobbies (2 friends+ 2 randoms)
People complain for the 1% of the times they meet a PC deathsquad with 2000+ hours of play in an asymmetrical game ( heckariii)
When Illfonic dropped the custom private setting, they shut down all the complaints. You think the game is unbalanced? Find players that think the same and make your own custom rules in private match.
