Who knows. I just made a simple and presumptuous comparison with the lampyridae species…
Issues with Prey
I understand - because most of fans, for some unexplained to me reason, thinks that Yautja are honourable warriors that respect fair fight. Seriously, even the Thomas brothers confirmed that this was never the case and was added on much later in comic books.
Feral is acting exactly like Jungle and City hunters acted – he uses all his advantages to win every time. He will not shy from cheating, just like JH or CH.
There never was no “honour code”. It was a lose thought expression, thrown in a random interview by one of the crew members on Predator 2. It was never a thing in the lore. I made a topic about this on forums and no one was able to convince me otherwise. And no one will. JH, CH and Feral committed to many “dishonorable” things to convince me that Yautja are actually following some sort of honour code.
Now, I do realise, that after 30 years of repeating lie it becomes “truth” and most of you will viciously attack me right now – but the proof is in the pudding.
You’ve just binned all of your previous reality checks XDDDDDDD
Cause i would think there are med diagnostics test that would do just that, detect proteins in lysed cells, so I’d assume those proteins are still able to undergo reactions. But, they could be in specific media for that.
Possibly blood detection in forensics as well. I forget how it works exactly.
My biggest issue with the movie that made no sense at all is how the heck did they have cameras to record all of this in the 1700’s???
And why didn’t the Predator simply kill the camera man when he had so many chances and could avoid getting recorded? Aren’t the Predator’s suppose to be stealthy and not want to be seen? Jesus christ…
🤣
Not quite. Just this one…
The camera is there so when the predator dies he can say post the losses too!
We will look at the tape and be like hey he beat a lot of squads before he got solo’d.
And on the tape you can see Narus last man standing buffing increases her abilities by 1000% to even the playing field.
Oh yeah, the mandible thing was pretty goofy.
As it should be however it fits my point so I will allow it because it benefits me 😎
It’s quite simple, they took a lot of the mcguffin flowers.
Enzymes work through chemichal reactions in blood cells. If the cells are dead we can assume with a significant level of certain that luciferin won’t be present after the blood is out of the organism.
The questions here are how long can the blood cells survive outside the body? And in which conditions?
Knowing that the Pred likes to hunt in hot environments, can we assume his body functions can be compared to a reptile? If so, we know that reptilian hematology varies from specie to specie and none has luciferase proteins in their blood.
unless of course…
All it needs is exposure to oxygen. Depending oh how the cells died, enzymes can be preserved and reaction will still happen. It it’s lysis, as opposed to apoptosis, the enzymes and protein should still be intact.
@TheSenate, what do you think? You possible took some biochem/physiology classes
I would’ve preferred if the predator just stood its ground and beat Taabe in a fair 1v1 instead of turning its cloak back on like a coward.
Naru deserves some credit though. She did outsmart the predator and use it’s own helmet against it. I thought that was cool.
Oh okay, I didn’t know that. I thought predators being honourable was a major part of the lore.
And for some reason it is - despite the fact the first two movies, written by Thomas bros are not showing that at all
You’re forgetting the fact that the enzymes (and all known protein) need a chemical reaction, if the blood cell dies, there’s no more chemichal reaction. Unless of course, there’s also bacterya present in the blood. But in that case, we’re opening a new book filled with more doubts because we don’t know how they would react to Earth environment.
Not really, no.
We’re talking about luciferase, a protein that we know how it works and what it needs.
What you probably mean is that could not be luciferase and could be another thing with different proprieties but with the same behaviour. But luciferase will be luciferase wherever it is.
Expanded universe mostly non canon lore.
