Im not saying OPs points are not valid, just that they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
The game obviously did well enough for SONY not to SCRAP it right away. Sony are still funding them now to make DLC and continue to work on the game, so they have to get sony a return in some way. and the DLC is the way they pay sony back with sales, and we keep geting improvments.
AS LONG as they listen to the community i couldnt give a fuck if they stroke my 8" ego and if they deliver what the players want along with the “paid dlc” im willing to pay for that.
Ill but the DLC just to fund the game so it keeps gettin worked on. I dont care about dutch to be honest. Dont get me wrong its cool as fuck and it must have cost a lot to do it, it hopfully will pay off and it hopfully will get more people to play fireteam and that will help the games playability and queue times etc.
If ALL it is though is dutch character, and a new gun and knife. there is NO WAY i will buy it.
IF its accompanied with atleast 1 map, bugfixes, Quality of life improvments, balance tweaks AND dutch … I will buy it 100% day 1. Even at $15 USD… i know, thats fucking WAY overpriced… but you are paying for ARNIE! You are paying for those “free tapes” that cost the most, in the form of a character that cost basically nothing!

yep i was incredibly dissapointed after BETA i thought there would be tons of extra maps, and the rumour floating around “the full game is 50gb” cuz it said that on PSN store storage requirments before release even made me “almost certain” it would have a ton of maps…
I was dissapointed to see it was the same size game as the BETA.
I also had a £10 epic coupon so £21 is a bit better to swallow. i feel for those that paid out the ass for “deluxe” and some brought “deluxe” for both platforms thinking they would be able to crossplay with friends… man, that really stings.
And some of them havnt even got the stuff they brought (prorder bonus etc)
You’re better off putting this on their unofficial, unverified Twitter account, it seems to be the only place they care about. The fact that there are no mods and threads are only locked when enough users have marked it as inappropriate says it all. Like you i defended them but after hearing about paid DLC and no mention whatsoever about the current issues with the game; it’s just a huge slap in the face.
yeah its not great i agree but it depends how they handle it IMO. if thats all there is its bollocks. but if its the paid DLC thats keeping the devs funded by sony so they can keep working on bugfixes, maps, patches and all the rest i can understand that…

Well the post i read said that we all get Dutch for free but the weapons are part of the paid DLC, which we all get free the month after. So all people are paying for is early access. Honestly though, i really really hope they address the current issues before they try forcing this down our throat. I bought Hunt: Showdown this weekend and although its not a masterpiece, i feel like i got what i paid for. I put predator on and i just sigh :(
Hmm its quite misleading i think like how they are using diagonal lines too it looks like things are together but really they are not etc. and i would imagine that its the weapons that everyone will get for free a month later, but you WONT get dutch at all unless you buy it. That was my take on it anyway. but its not exactly clear it could mean anything they want it to mean.
I mean, its something we’ve seen a lot now in recent game devs, usually the ones who sacrifice their games potential for short term cash grabs, and thats what worries me.
if you dont hold them to account (like EA was over Battlefront 2 and forced them to change ALOT) they kill the game and get away with it.
Sure its a 75 man team at illfonic… but I shit you not ive seen better games made by 12 man teams and with better communication to their fans/players.
