Simple fix

Make capturing the Predator the main objective on every map and give FT a jet pack to get to the spots only accessible to Predator

Also remove the name FT and replace it with OWLF

And stop being coy about predators existing

the legitamite reason we want people to actually defuse the bomb is the game does not consider the bomb going off a win for the fireteam we know this from the Daily so therefore in illfonic’s data collectoin every bomb that goes off successfully is a draw OR at worst illfonic’s data could consider it a win for the predator

so some player feel that is not correct if the predator was killed in most cases the team could defuse the bomb as it’s not hard and it’s an easy win 90% of the time a bomb that goes off is just cuase the FT was lazy not cause they couldn’t do it

which for illfonic data collection is bad

Just putting this here so people can see/ understand the arguement in short form since this thread is pretty lit right now make sure you read this post

but we know from Oldkinghamlet that some of their balance changes does come from the data they collect and i can assume from other games they may not neccesarily look at the details of every single game individually unless there is specific problem they are trying to solve

Looks like we are trying to now manipulate a game and it’s rules because people don’t agree with the rules or see it as “not important”

Looks like we have some bombs to diffuse to even the odds don’t we! Complaining about it hasn’t really gotten us too far.

so if players think that a rule is wrong cause it causes a perceived bad outcome in devlopment should we not voice our opinions about it?

So… people are willing to take the L by blowing up Predator, not choose to do anything to change the way this data themselves are influencing, and expecting the devs to change the game accordingly.

If I get that right its effecting the devs logs? Then I guess they better rethink how they read those logs? Just consider how many times the predator is dead and FT alive and consider that a win for FT in the way they collect the data.

correct but they may not know it’s a problem is the issue as it’s the way they orginally designed the game albeit if they did this then the bomb doesn’t matter the moment the pred dies he should just leave same with the FT making the rest of the game past that point a waste of dev resources

which would be hard to swallow i imagine for the devs

This is not my fault or the people who don’t disarm. Its up to the devs to make something interesting and people wanting to do it because they want to and LIKE to.

that is true but it is up to the players in the modern online game to tell the devs the symptoms of a problem so the devs can be the doctor and find the right remedy for the disease they are describing

some devs may not know a problem is in the game or their Game director who is the final say on changes may believe X is not a problem only through lots of feedbacks may it ever change

It says it’s a GOAL not a win condition. And you don’t have to finish ALL the goals to finish some thing or win (thank you RPG’s for one)

also it’s the Dailies that we are going off of daily win hunt matches don’t consider a win if the bomb goes off only if you exfil or capture a body regardless of condition

the extras menu just implies that the bomb isn’t a loss as you “retain honor and ensure tech doens’t fall in human hands”

I assume genuinely
when you work in an Art industry and yes i think video games are art, your not participating in bad business practices (endless sequals with no merit to them predatory gambling mechanics etc etc…)

that people try to do their job with the best of their abilities that’s not to say you can lack talent (as the AI in this game can attest) or resources (since they have about 70 employess)

making the intent behind the dailies all we can go from that it IS what they intend to do
and devs are not all knowing sometimes they may not know a problem exists or believe a problem isn’t one even if the players think so as the Game director is the final say for what happens in a game

the answer to this question is yes a goal is a win condition as having more X than the other guy is a win condition in every sport ever from sports like football all the way to winning rounds in a fighting game

and i’m referring to the extras in the Predator menu as the FT menu i think says your only objective is to exfil and complete the mission
