It’s not that it’s necessarily a problem. It’s just not reaching its target audience. The lead roll for an 80’s action franchise that was successful almost entirely due to its macho man attitude, is now being helmed by a 16 year old girl. It’s just not good marketing. Some films with gay protagonists or woman leads (the best example of the woman lead in action in my opinion is alien) have done extremely well and they make sense. But there’s also nothing wrong with admitting some franchises are just dude bro chad movies. Predator is a prime example of a movie so over the top with testosterone, that it ended up working. Just knowing your audience would do studios some good. The audience for predator, does not dislike woman. Or homosexuals. The audience for predator just wants over the top macho action. And I think this will be proven by the box office for this film. I don’t know a SINGLE girl who likes predator. Pretty much watch it 2-3 times a year and any girlfriend I’ve ever had that watched it with me did not enjoy it lol so the market for women won’t be hit. And by missing your target audience with men by casting a 16 year old girl you won’t be getting appeal on that side either. Making this movie, marketing to basically no one. Does that make sense

Like, once again, putting people of color or women in movies isn’t progressive or woke.

But, like, what other legit reasons people might have to be angry about women in movies? Quality of the movies? Like, hey, Dark Fate sucked (because of women and poc according to local movie critics), but, khem, every Terminator movie after 2 did. Regardless of the inclusion of women or poc.
Ghostbusters 2016 sucked. But, like, Ghostbusters 2 is universally disliked. So, well, like, what’s the reason to hate movies because they have women in them aside from bigotry?
