MORE WOKENESS!

k

Well, here I can agree to a certain degree.
Problem with “woke” Hollywood is that they don’t care about pushing any agendas - they just include trendy messages like “racism bad” (which it fucking is), but since they don’t care about the topic it comes off as disingenuous.
But the problem is not the message, but the corporate nature of Hollywood.
Same here. Message is good - girls can be badass. Can this be ruined because of incompetence? Yes. Do local movie critics need to cry out loud about LEFTIST FEMINIST HOLLYWOOD LITERALLY GENOCIDING MEN or something? No.
If the movie is bad - it’s bad. But we don’t know yet. And we don’t know what to expect. So people are literally triggered because of women in a movie essentially.

Strong woman fight space tick good movie no feminism no leftist agenda good.

Remember when we watch horror movies or creature features for the kills and the creature design yea…

Her entire point with the Corp part of it, is cause berk and the whole subplot of them trying to bring an alien back. Lol but that’s like a very textbook move from movies. Woah! Evil corporation is evil! Wow such a norm being broken. And making us hate berk so we love it when he dies, Also text book horror

I already know what to expect. Another shitty film. The Predator was shit. AvPR was shit. And AvP1 was only decent as a popcorn film.

Right now they are casting black Superman, the actor who played cyborg in the justice league, who is black, literally came out and said “they don’t care about race or equality, they are doing this just to look good.” Which inherently means woke Hollywood does exist. People using progressive ideas, to just try and look better, while not actually caring about those ideas

I mean the whole theme was Weyland wanting to weaponize the xenos by any means necessary nothing more nothing less. Now everyone wants to all of sudden add hidden bullshit meanings that we’re never present to begin with is quite vexing

I haven’t put anything in place. If you think that gender norms do not exist and that to defy them you need to pronounce it out loud - you’re really mistaken.
Like, the sole fact that Ripley operates a power loader is literally that. This is literally “women can do men’s work” message from like 1920s Soviet propaganda that was still deemed as CONTROVERSIAL in conservative Raegan era.
Like, I’m not even talking about the anti-corporational agenda in the movie. But it’s not in the face, so it doesn’t exist, I guess.

Like Nightmare on Elm Street 2.
Just a slasher movie. Absolutely not an essay on queer youth in the 80s.

Strong woman fight space tick good movie no feminism no leftist agenda good.

So you’re staking this big ass argument over a little scene that a lot of people did not even put much thought into after the fact 🤣

Henry Cavill is the only Superman. Until he passes on. Then, we must find a new hero.

Making it THAT black and white ignores way too much of the argument behind what we’re upset about

Tell me, and really think about this. Could you ever imagine a female, just about to come of age, chimpanzee killing a fully grown male crocodile in his prime with tools, and basic knowledge? Except the crocodile is smarter than the chimp, uses superior tools and employs coordinated tactics to kill his prey. You can’t. There are no circumstances without special conditions that the chimp wins. That’s basically what this movie is trying to push. And don’t come at me with comparing bullshit. Chimps have a 99% DNA match to humans. Just a few more evolutionary steps and Chimps have become humans.

Now, coming to this whole issue of the hype behind something like this. It’s not a fight that the Comanche woman can win. You can ask my Navajo ancestors, my distant relatives, if that fight is at all possible. They will tell you the croc will always win unless special circumstances have arisen. So please, take this whole men hate women thing back to where you found it; in your imagination.

Her operating the power lift, yeah. Was a fun scene. Like hey ripley doesn’t need anyone help. Yes. Does that mean the entire film is about defying gender norms?? If YOU’RE idea of a gender norm is that woman can’t operate equipment or, fight for there actual lives. That’s on you buddy

The fact that you can’t properly analyze a movie doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Do you think that everything in cinema (which is a visual medium) needs to be said out loud and explicitly announced?
I’m sorry, art (even commercial art) doesn’t work this way.

I could careless about politics I just want to watch good movies you can keep you left or right wing nonsense from me

Henry cavill is awesome
In the role. And the fact people think we don’t want him recast is cause we’re racist, is so fuckin dumb. Lol like Spawn is one of my all time favorite comic characters, and if they cast him as a white dude I’d be PISSED. Not cause I’m racist and think spawn can’t be white. But because as a fan, you simply want your source material followed
