I’d like to say yes. That terminator 2, and aliens, are both awesome examples of how to do a female lead in an action role right! Yes. We agree there. But there’s no norms being broken here. No one felt they didint belong. The same way men do bad in action films and you need Arnold to show them how it’s done, sometimes women don’t pull off the role and Linda could show them how it’s done lol

And… let’s face, they have a hard time with quality after the original films. Sometimes they get lucky with the sequel.

Because there is a historical problem in the American cinema with white washing. That’s why casting poc as a white dude is okay (since the overwhelming majority of Hollywood actors are white and don’t have a problem with representation) and vice versa is not.

Resorting to the old Ok bud. Lol you’re point, that these characters are defying some norm that YOU have put in place for them. Is sexist. At no point in terminator 2 is sarah underestimated. They literally treat her like Hannibal lector while she’s in the hospital because of how dangerous she is. The whole film respects her and at no point do we feel she’s overcome some norm. You are making this up, to hold some kind of weird moral high ground here.

It’s about a character that just so happens to have survived an encounter with the galaxy’s deadliest organism and uses her knowledge and experiences with these creatures to aid their destruction at the hands of the Colonial Marines. Nowhere has anyone(but you) ever exercised a “gender biased/norm breaking” agenda with these movies and Sigourney Weaver will tell you the same goddamn thing

White washing roles has definitely been done a lot. I even have a friend who could not get a role as Serena Williams because they told her she “wasn’t black enough”. Not that her scenario totally relates to white washing at all. Just that I’ve seen it a lot where casting can be, well. Racist
