Multi-Pred mode idea

So, hear me out here. I feel like the biggest problem with multi pred modes is pred ranged play. In 4v1 a plasma spamming pred is annoying, but beatable. Unfortunately I think it becomes a huge problem when more Predators are thrown into the mix. 2v6, 3v12, whatever the numbers you want to see in a big hunt mode, it’s all gonna wind up the same. Most quick play games will be 2 or more preds parking at different angles and just plasma spamming the FT into oblivion.

My solution to this is to change the rules and mix things up a bit to prevent this kind of play. Think it’ll also be more fun for Preds too. So basically, for multi pred mode, you’re competing against each other for trophies, not just trying to murder the FT. In order to attack and kill the FT you have to mark them with thermal. Each predator has their own marking, so if you mark a FT member, that’s your kill. If another pred attacks that FT player, he’s bad blood. If you down a FT member without marking him, you’re bad blood. When you’re bad blood, you’re now open season for the other pred(s) and also now the priority target.

This would encourage more stalking and less spamming and reduce the chances of multi pred mode being Predator: Plasma Caster Crossfire. The idea needs some fine tuning but I think for a base idea this is kinda good start.

They should have a limited amount of markers as well, to prevent a Pred from purposely getting the other as bad blood. Possibly 1 marker which can only be done every 40 seconds.

There’s a good idea. That’s one of two problems I’m trying to tackle. The first is pred players saying to hell with it and going bad blood on purpose (screws everybody over but especially the pred players) and the second is incentivizing FT play (2v6 that’s not too big a deal, 3v12 why the hell would I wanna play with 11 potatoes in a meat grinder)

To add 2 or 3 preds would require an actual game mode that adds proper objectives to either do or fail to complete. Failing would turn it into a badblood challenge. SO there needs to be an outer objective, and once that fails then it turns into a badblood challenge.
No sense and just adding it to hunt where one could just turn to the side and nail your friend right away. That wouldnt be fair for the FT guys when they are looking for predators. The preds will just end up in a corner of the map killing each other. FT would be going “hmmm where the fuck are they?”.

So the Preds need to engage the map and FT for something before any of the badblood stuff can happen. But i see it would only happen when they see FT at all.

But i also bring a good point, that bad blood could kill off the other preds early on and there is left one or two preds looking for FT. Then that dead badblood would have to magically reappear for a second go-around.

No you’re right, again that’s a hiccup for me as it creates a breeding ground for in game trolling.

The idea is fun but it relies on people playing by the rules which…let’s face it they don’t. I mean even if friendly fire is turned off until you’re bad blood I still see complications

Possibly it being a capture the flag sort of ordeal but with missions for both sides, for example there is Predator tech which Voodoo has to collect, each piece of gear after the match equates to a new skins, equipment or even a new perk. Now the Predators will have to stop the FT from collecting said gear, each piece they stop them from getting equates to the same as what FT would get.

So the Fireteam would have to complete a certain amount of tasks in that area, and the Preds would have a number of kills to make, for each gear to be won.

Deaths aren’t permanent, and at the start of each new objective, both teams would be reinforced.

That just sounds fun and funny as hell.

I dont mind other modes but honestly I just want a normal hunt that’s 2v8 or 3v10.

I think people are just going to have to get used to plasma.
Pred has to deal with nades and fire from multiple angles, so they should be allowed to clap back.

DONE I like the idea, tuning it obviously is a must but I’d play it.

Eh…I mean I just kinda feel it’ll turn into a monkey shit fight real quick that way. 2 or 3 preds just going “Plasma go weeeee” for 5 minutes.

If the missions keep the FT moving around the map, so long as there is appropriate number of FT to preds with appropriate dmg, I don’t see how this wouldn’t work.

We can sit here all day and speculate, I’d love if we actually had a chance to test and try a future mode coming out, if they are so apprehensive.

I’m just tired of this game sitting and either talking or not.

I wanna see some trial weekends and events for future content we could get.

That would be spectacular. Demo testing patches prior to release? No one can break the game better or faster.

Fuckin eh. Events that tests something out for a limited time before it gets refined or something. I mean, anything like that would be super exciting. But we have weeklys, and dailys, and waiting for content to come out. Sony really has them by the balls with this as well as our balls.

Also, it wouldn’t be considered an item they would ACTUALLY release.

Just have a test server(s) and allow the community that has stuck around do the testing for you. Since we already do that with already released content.

Also would build up hype possibly without them needing to release too much.

I mean… it’s a win win for folks that still play and the betterment of the future of modes and games.

The only way i can imagine 3 v 12 being non spammable on both sides would be having a nullifiying perk effect if like more than 4 people run the same perk and they deal less damage, same with the plasma caster all three preds deal less damage i guess… but then again shrug

This is some outside the box thinking. I think I’m okay with loadout restrictions in a 3v12. After all a 12 man field medic support self revive crew…yeah let’s not let that happen.
