New lazy ideas.

I said I wasnt gonna start again but this came to me outta nowhere.

As it stands, there is a significant divide currently (and has been since a month after release) between the majority of ft player skill level, and premade team level.

I wanted to put forth some suggestions:

  1. Bear traps. Requires a second player to disarm, or requires a second player to disarm (disarming yourself takes a significant amount of time). Either way last man standing can disarm himself quickly.

  2. Pred gear. Pred needs more aoe tools, grenades, gas, anything. (Id prefer the plasma caster be reverted to low aoe 1 shot down alongside this)

  3. Fear mechanic. The longer within a fight, or within proximity to predator, the less accurate you are. Encourages running, allows preds to play up close and force engagements more, can break up groups.

Yes to all of these, especially the bear trap, and more pred gear, we need those Plasma grenades.

And a fear mechanic is a good idea cause it puts some actual tension for ft to deal with instead of “Oh the predators here better shoot it”.

And you might stand a better chance against premades because you can force them apart.

Exactly my thought. Though it could be reversed if people think its a stupid “reason” and you could make it preddy blood rage, the more preds in proximity to ft, more damage resistant he is. Should have a similar effect.

Or a thrill of the hunt kinda thing, longer your around the ft your the cost of leaping and using stamina decreases and so on

Predator needs more mobility, kinda of a pseudo assassin creed style of movement not just for trees.

Hell weapon mods for predator weapons like caster burst fire or a beam firing mode, or a larger aeo blast.

Or shotgun mod for pistol turn into a plasma saw offfed shotgun.

A crowsbow mod for the bow.

Instead of having make different ranged weapons, have mods to make them those weapons since there similar by design.

Yes. Im all down for pred mods.

Here are some ideas.

Shoulder PC:

(Default) reverted to 1 shot down, no aoe

(Multi lock) locks onto 3 seperate targets, dealing moderate damage if hit (no charge up), but has poor leading ability. So ft running adjacent to firing angle can easily dodge it.

(Aoe) shoots a large aoe plasma, but has drop, (like the wraith from halo

(Sniper) fires precise shots with no aoe, but is hitscan, deals moderate damage, requires a small charge, cant be quickfired.

Bow:

(Default) same as now but 1 shot downs on a headshot

(Burst) crossbow that fires 5 small darts in a burst, has bad drop and is better close range for damage

(Trebuchet) fires and explosive bolt with very little drop, requires a long charge to fire however.

Bear traps - what if all 4 get trapped at the same time? One trap effectively eliminate 2 FT

Fear - FT know of Yautja existence and have been hunting them for some time

If all ft get bear trapped at the same time with traps so easily destroyed now, they deserve a quick game over.

Just because you know what a bear is doesnt mean you arent gonna be staining your underwear when one is attacking you.

Fear works in favor of some people also

Making one side weaker and less capable is not the way though

Buff Pred via new weapons/gear/perks to make dealing with FT more manageable

Normally id agree, but truth be told thats been this game from the start. Pred is weak af and far less capable in practice despite the advantages he has on paper. Theres a million ways to make the game better but either

A: Illfonic doesnt bother

B: we cant all agree on changes.

No matter what changes are made some of the people currently enjoying the game in its shit state are gonna be unhappy.

But changes need to be made nonetheless for the health of the game. Gotta break a few eggs to make an omlette Ig. Its just a shitty situation because there are things in this game that any game dev should have caught before release. That way we dont fight over what we have and what should be and we just get what is.

Okay, how about…

The fear actually only applies to a person who is not close to his group and is trying to 1v1 predator alone.

But in general the fear should apply to people who dont stick together.

Effects:

People start to hear predator clicking noises.

Screen gets a darker tint/maybe blurry cause your eyes start to water and stuff…

It gives the person the shown effect down left as he was the last person alive but this time its for the fear.

Getting warmer

I’d like to see some form of stalking mechanic, that generates a temp one off damage buff. Let’s say you are stalking and watching a player for a while your first hit his harder. It’s down to the predator to keep that player insight and also rewarded for it.
