New player. Needing tips for the game

Been playing the game for a few weeks and haven’t really came across anyone that would mic up with me as FT.
I was always talking and asking if anyone would help. Unfortunately, most people left as soon as I said I was new or maybe I just talk to much.

Then tonight I met Voodoo Lady. What a pleasure that was, she was super nice, gave me some tips, told me to join the forum, watch some streamers on twitch and YouTube gamers for this game.

I have been in forums before so please no hate. I know I am a noob but if anyone wants to give me some tips/tricks to the game, it would be greatly appreciated.

It’s pretty easy. To the point of being boring on ft side.
Pretty much anything but the minigun or shotguns work

there are also a lot of discord servers where people gather up to play games. Are you on ps4, Steam or Epic?

Thank you

I remember Voodoo lady saying something like this as well but I couldn’t remember everything. I think she also mentioned Facebook communities to join as well.
Tbh I just played a game with these two guys who seemed friendly, then at the end of the game blocked me in a hit a blew me up.

don’t get frustrated by the bugs, enjoy what’s there, don’t pay for dlc, and don’t hesitate to play other better games

@Derangedxeno_02, @Forever_Mello, @VENN7eance, @Fire, @No-namepotato, find the time to help this guy out in pubs. I would but I don’t have the time today.

@Dannyboi welcome to the forums.

To start off you need to know that in regular game chat, the pred can hear your mic and find you as a result. Most people in pubs tend to go radio silent as a result to avoid this, if you’re in a party in party chat or are using discord to communicate then that will stop the pred from being to able to track you through voice chat.

Always mud up and do your best to stay mudded up. This makes it harder for the pred to find you and prevents it from using target isolation on you (unless they have the tracker spec).

Stay close to your team but not too close. Always be within sight of each other. This will prevent most preds from charging right in or they will get melted in seconds. If you’re too close to each other then you’re left open to a charged plasma shot or a disc user.

There’s a bunch of other shit to cover but I don’t have the time atm. Somebody else can take it from here.

Welcome to the forum. And if you ever want to play as predator stick with range unless their’s one person left alive and you want to knife fight.

AVOID THE MINIGUN AT ALL COST!

Numero Uno tip : STAY MUDDED UP!! The moment you touch dirt after landing, mud up. And keep mudding up (Dutch 87 class actually gets an incoming damage reduction for being mudded up).

If playing with randoms, assume they know nothing and focus on killing AI and objectives while keeping an ear out for Predator.

So if you’re with randoms and they’re chatting away then know that they’re going to give you away and handicap your ability to track the Predator. Put as much distance between yourself and them. Better still, pull a Royce and use them as bait!!

Most of the basics have been mentioned but one thing you NEED to practice is PARRY. When a Predator rushes in and starts swinging, parry that bitch back to Yautja Prime. After a couple of successful parries most Predators will back off because they know they’re going to get wrecked, so learning to parry melee attacks is important.

Welcome to the jungle!! It literally is just fun and games, so don’t take anything too seriously. You win some, you lose some. But with a competent Fireteam. you’ll more than you lose…

There are lots of veterans still playing so keep an eye out for their posts especially @SkooLBoY_SkePtiK who is the guy with all the stats. If you want to know the best weapons, classes etc then he’s got posts/topics breaking all the numbers down. Drums626 streams everyday on Twitch and has been in the game since forever and knows his stuff, you could learn alot watching him play.

Other than that, ask questions (ignore trolls) and someone will be able to help you out.

Good luck Voodoo.

That means something completely different in the UK…but sure, I’ll take him to the pub and buy him a drink and tell him of the legend of DeadEyeBuddha by the fire…

How do you use someone as bait properly, because every time I try the pred finds me first and I die because I’m not the best at parry and the guy I was using as bait is so bad he just watches me die and when he shoots he misses all of his shots.

I said what I said.

That’s not good enough! Now you get your ass back out there and you let him know all the bullshit the game has to offer.

FT: stay as close as possible to your team, mud up, do the mission, don’t waste bullets, don’t hesitate to shoot the Predator when you see it. Oh, and that mic you use, will reveal your position.

Pred: stay on the move, hit & run, don’t use melee only, don’t get too greedy, remember that even if you’re cloaked, if you move a little, you will be seen and always remember: ONE single FT member can kill you in 1-2 seconds if you give them the chance.

Wait what! The Pred can hear me. I thought only the Fireteam could.
I would like to eventually play as Pred but it looks pretty hard from what I have been watching with YouTube channels of pre-made teams.
I did message Voodoo lady to see if I should be looking out to be in teams with people but she said to just hang out with everyone and enjoy the game.
I was looking at getting the Dutch 87 DLC but the person above said not to bother with the DLC’s. Is there an issue with them?

Perfect example was my final game last night where I had the unfortunate experience of getting teamed up with 3 squeakers… Worst of all they knew fuck all about the game and were loudly discussing the movies. I kept my distance, smashed out objectives and let them distract the Predator. Three got killed during the last objective (Railyard chemical bomb), two left before I could reinforce them so I ended up with two bots and a player. At exfil, I stuck to cover and let the last squeaker distract the AI and Predator, and while the Predator was desperately claiming the kid I was on the ropes and heading home.

You have to stay concealed and out of sight, don’t shoot the Predator until he is focused on the noisy ones that way he can’t focus enough to figure out where he’s getting melted from. And have plenty of distance between yourself and the bait… Also, parry comes with practice and/or desperate R3 spamming in the heat of the moment.
