I wonder at what point EMP devices will become viable in defense against them. Currently we can only do it in a meaningful way with nukes and non-nuclear options are extremely limited. But hey 40 years down the line who knows.
They already exist and they still have counter EMP in their own missiles, both Russia and USA, so EMP will never be good defense. Since other missiles have it on them already.
Right, but according to principles of physics we could theoretically generate EMPs exponentially more powerful then what we have today.
Either way I thing missile targeting systems will remain the main way of dealing with missiles , but still some speculation is nice.

Well, you have to make sure all other electronics in the are are secure from emps. But perhaps a local clumps can be activated to work at short bursts. Not a force filed, but an area of interference. I would think something like that is in the works or already exists, but it’s held as a secret weapon for now because it will beva game changer when actually used for first time
