Been scrolling through Twitter, and even on my SDCC groups on facebook, and its been overwhelmingly positive. There’s even a video of the crowd giving a standing ovation at the end. General consensus seems to be, its a true successor to the first film, lots of actual hunting from both sides, lots of gory kills, script is tight, and Amber Midthunder…

…jesus fucking holy moly, this woman…shines as the star and apparently is quite the badass. Seems like they listened after The Predator and wanted to distance itself from that film as much as possible, and return to the roots of the franchise. I’m still keeping my expectations low, but, it really seems like we have a winner here, finally.

Now, if only Predator could get the same treatment in video games…

Ive never seen a reaction this good for a predator film. Either its just a reaction of the times we live in (covid break) or social media being useful to bulster hype or we are really in for a treat!

I’m wondering if Alien could pull a gender reversal and have an lead male type actor bring some glory back to the franchise.

Dude this overwhelming positivity has been nothing but amazing! I think finally the true revival of the Predator franchise has begun because it’s a film everyone may agree on as amazing. I saw that standing ovation and that was pure sarentonine for me.

Definitely gonna host a watch party with my fans and friends, but also kinda hope some of my theories turn to be true. God I can’t wait!

Also your thoughts on the game having same treatment might be a possibility for if given a lot of popularity might have Disney step in for that possible big bank IP. This is where the franchise goes up hill now, question is how long can they keep the ball rolling before it takes a dip.

Its obvious that this hype will renew interest in the franchise. All it takes for a low-hanging franchise is one good film that actually works and the hype train starts to roll. I’m curious to see what will come after this, if they can deliver another hit.

I read on Twitter that there is no after credits, but there is an “image” that hints towards a sequel. Whatever that means.

I just wonder with this new rejuvenation of the series if Fox will do anything to make this game move in a better direction, or at least make a new Predator game that deserves better then what we have here.

Constantly being reminded of how piss poor illfonic treated this game, while all of this hype for PREY is here and now, just puts such a bad taste in my mouth.

Either disney told illfonic to fuck off so the film can breathe and be successful, or illfonic has made the biggest mistake in their careers not pursuing this franchise and giving it the respect it deserved.

Laughing my ass off at this point tbh.

Gonna be munching all the popcorn watching Ghostbusters go up in flames and seeing all of their Aecadegeddon “WHOS PLAYING?!” posts never reach more than 4 or 5 likes on all their socials.

This is just sweet poetic fucking justice.

You seem to forget that Amengys made genetics alterations to the hish for centuries for gladiator parties and slave labor, preys to hunt… Kaail being the first Yautja ever,Then thousands of years of “natural” natural selection and evolution brought us what we see in the movies, other variations ended up to be like the Mr Black’s “Super Predators” or Feral, or maybe these two genus were present with kaail’s already.
