HUGE SPOILER ALERT?!

Whoa…

I hope this is just an Easter egg and not a new explanation for how Greyback got the flintlock pistol. We already have a comic for how he got it.

Films always supersede over expanded media, so it seems like this is a new origin for the pistol. Even earlier leaks said that the flintlock is involved in the film so this just proves the leaks are true.

The question is how will this play out is what I wanna see.

Well Feral obviously isn’t Greyback. Maybe Feral stole it from Greyback, and at the end he shows up and whacks him and takes it back? God that sounds stupid…

Doesn’t entirely look like the same flintlock

There are a few differences, yeah. Also, and I know some people in the fandom will freak tf out because logic doesn’t always apply and they don’t think, but there are many more flintlocks in the world than just Greyback’s. Just because there’s a nearly-identical pistol here, doesn’t mean its the exact same one. Flintlocks were the primary system for firearms until the mid 19th century, until percussion locks took over, but even still they were still being used. So more than likely its a flintlock pistol, not the flintlock pistol.

Don’t worry y’all, this isn’t a redo history of the pistol for this film takes place before Adaline (1715) by a couple of years to the beginning of 1700’s. So this is just extended history of the pistol like what was leaked a couple of months ago.

Good, I always hate it when a film series retcons something when there’s no reason to. It always feels pointless and a slap in the face to fans who have considered something to be cannon for years.

Honestly same but I’m always okay with adding more lore to a object or character, plus the pistol hasn’t been engraved it seems so more of a reason.

I agree with adding lore but taking it away is what gets me.

Idk, the only difference I see is lighting but everything else is spot on. Small differences can be seen perhaps due to resolution of zooming in. Honestly I feel like this could be denialism but hey reason why I say this is that leaks mentioned they gotten the exact replica of the flintlock from the previous film (one of the extras made the claim that the pistol was seen during the shooting) and further leaks said that it does have ties with what we see in P2. It was just speculation up to this point and both pistols are too identically to somehow be different.

Historically, Flintlock pistols are not mass manufactured like we see with modern pistols so flintlocks of back then will have unique looks to them. Mostly army officers or people of high status would have such pistols and such these pistols will be custom made for each individual. Especially for a pirate of high wealth, these custom made pistol would be one of a kind that he can afford to be custom made fit for a pirate of such high reputation and wealth such as Raphael.

Well if it is gonna be retconned and this is the same pistol it will most likely change and no longer belong to a pirate if they change how greyback acquires it.
Either way this predator isn’t greyback so if it has something to do with it either this predator has some connections to greyback or he’s a badblood and greyback will be the one to hunt him down at the end of the film.

I’m about 100% sure this is just a typical flintlock pistol.

Look at the scene that’s going on. She’s trying to hide it looks like, or take some cover, while another warrior is taking off on horseback. My guess is there is a battle of some kind, we can tell by the trailers there is human on human fighting. This scene MAY involve Feral, her expression looks pretty fearful and she looks a little beaten up. But I feel like its a generic pistol, nothing connecting this to Greyback. I think she picks it up and uses it though, like its right there by her. But I feel its just an easter egg, not a direct connection.

Honestly sounds like copium. There is no such thing as “typical flintlock pistols” as again, all pistols are custom made due to the high status weapon it presents to everyone. Rifle muskets on the other hand are all usually the same with some being unique due to being the usual arms for regulars with some being commissioned by wealthy upperclassmen.

If we are going with the lore that it belonged to an infamous pirate, then one knows that criminals no matter the time period always prized their own unique items, whenever it’s swords, outfits, weapons, loot, ect, so something of this high end weapon that isn’t common to regular lower working class will definitely be something unique of it’s own. What also strongly supports this is that if these are fur traders, then they can be rich off the sales of fur trades and other areas, seeing that fur traders would have enough wealth to operate in other economic areas. They would have the finances to commission a custom made weapon of their choosing, especially a flintlock pistol. I have no idea if Raphael is going to be a pirate still or a fur trapper at this point of time but we don know that wealthy people (honest or not) spent money on extravagant things, and a custom made pistol would be one of said items.

If Naru does use it, could be one she captured in battle or given to her by a settler, perhaps Raphael himself, to help deal with the Predator. Who knows how it’s there but regardless the images strongly suggest its the pistol from P2

If they went to the trouble of getting the original prop back for filming then it has to be Greyback’s and earlier leaks did say he was involved in the movie.

I’m gonna take a bet that he either kills or helps kill Feral.

I would actually really enjoy seeing that. It would save the movie for me, if he shows up and helps Naru in some fashion. It dicks with the lore though, because doesn’t this take place before he meets Adaline? And isn’t that meeting his first hunt on earth? So why would he be here then?

Guys
it’s just a pistol
and Feral doesn’t look at all like Greyback Elder or someone else that we know from the Lost Clan

if than it will connect somehow okay, but FOR SURE Feral it’s not someone we know.

Remember a lot of the stuff from Predator 2 is stolen and still missing to this day. The reason the Clan shown in Predator 2 is even called the Lost Tribe is a meta joke at the fact the vast majority of the Suits used in filming went missing after production and still haven’t been recovered.

Getting the original Flintlock prop to use for filming, a prop which is 30+ years old as a reminder, is a lot more of a pain in the ass then just commissioning another Flintlock for the movie. So them going to the effort to use said original prop, combined with leaks from earlier this year: yeah Greyback is gonna be involved in some fashion.

Yeah the correct name should be Los Angeles Hunting Party, but Lost Clan became more used and practical.

idk why does the RE show have a dua lipa dance scene, Blade- I mean tripled cloned black Wesker, completely unrelated made up characters, and just throws in a couple recognizable monsters in so it can call itself Resident Evil

none of this matters to the people writing. Rings of Power, Halo, Witcher etc we are in bizarro world rn

just throw some nostalgiabait in and then you’re given complete freedom to make your own fanfic or resurrect some 10 year old script for a different movie.

We just had a P2018 retconning trophy hunting into le climate change war over autism, there’s no quality control here

the sky is the limit especially with streaming services
