Offline mode

When I first bought the game I assumed there would be an offline mode where you could play against the AI and practice as the predator against a full fire team. I was very surprised when I learned the game didn’t have anything like that, the closest thing to it is jumping into a private match and mindlessly killing derpy computers for thirty seconds before they’re all eliminated. Honestly it’s kinda weird considering illfonic’s previous title: “Friday the 13th” had an offline mode. Evolve; which is a very similar game in structure, also had an offline mode that I actually had fun playing. I just think it would be a nice alternative for more casual players, especially since the wait times for the predator are so long. I know I’ve heard that they can’t do it bc of technological constraints regarding the AI but if other games possess it why can’t this one?

No

Why tho?..

It could be coming

A virtual cabin type thing would be kinda neat

Or they could dump millions into the game and tell what happens with Dutch

Sony/Disney just needs to throw money at illfonic

an offline mode would need to be lengendary. Not a, throw what they have in a bag, shake and hope people have fun. NO.
It would have to live up to HUNT matches and make offline a way to practice that ultimately needs to make a difference on their play style before entering a game. Lots of potatos will play offline mode and never come back!
SO not only does it have to be good, it will need to give them the confidence to come back to playing online. Otherwise, you’ll lose players.
And if its a cheap duck hunt, it would be a joke to the community. It needs to be so engrossing that it retains playership somehow.
If its fucking awesome, people won’t go back to the hunt matches for 15 minutes! So you might have conflicting paradigms.

and if you’re the only guy in your timezone, you’ll be the only guy in the lobby and other players in your country are taking 15 minutes in a scatter succession to play a Duck Hunt offline!

Then you’ll be match made with a guy in another country halfway across the world , 500ms away from YOUR server and your games will all be farked!

You know I never considered that…

Illfonic please add it I’m tired of shit teammates running off on their own getting killed within the first 10 seconds!!!

Both games you listed had a offline mode that was added at the very end of support. So what are you questioning really?

I’m questioning whether or not they will actually add it. Like I said I’ve heard that they’ve already addressed this question and said they couldn’t due to technological constraints with the AI. Every time I ask a dev on one of their streams they always dodge the question and refer me here to the forums.

Well in regards to the devs thats what they always do.

With the AI yes I believe it will be pretty difficult since the current ai have an extreme assists like aimbot and wall hacks. You said you are a casual player which is great but I can also be safe to assume that you have never had a Ai sniper shoot you repeatedly even tho you are invisible and moving as the Predator. The Ai will need to have a whole new code so they acted like a Ft would and also code them to complete the missions and. I find that would be rather difficult at this tile fore them

I can not say it wont happen but I can say that at the current state of the game an offline mode better be that the bottom of the list

I agree but also disagree. If the que times for predator were shorter and the games more competitive I would agree but so far from my experience that’s not the case. I’m only level 17 with a little over like 10 games under my belt ( only like one of those as predator bc why wait in a fat que when I can just hop on another game in that time ) almost every single experience I’ve had has been with a potato ass little kid playing as the predator. Idk I just think it would help noobs like me and those little kids get more accustomed to predator gameplay. You could easily incentivize online play by providing more XP from online games as opposed to offline ones.

They have sorta done this already. The give a 30% xp bonus to play ft Public rather than private with 5 friends.

I want to hunt a giant mutant T-Rex… offline mode would be perfect for alternative Hunts.

It would have to be an epic campaign that surpasses the films for me to be interested at all

Just sat in another que for six minutes only to be slaughtered by the FT within like 2 minutes. I just don’t understand why I can’t be offered some mode to practice in? I don’t have the time to sit in a fuccin que all day just to be murked. Sorry I’m not a god tier MLG sweaty at this game smh

I don’t know when i got better but it takes more tries and a personal gameplan. understanding the mechanics of the things you can control, then tackle what you can’t control.

Sounds like solid advice. I just think it’s ridiculous that it’s a 30 dollar game and they don’t even offer a practice mode against competent AI. Every online only game I know of is free, with the only exception I can think of being mmo’s. Even games like SWTOR and WOW offer “single player” quest elements. I guess I’m more so just disappointed, I really like the game and I think it has a lot of potential. You would think they would learn from past titles like Friday and evolve and add stuff like this at launch.

I want it to be like this, to bad it’s removed…

They’ve never made a shooter like this before LOL, but from what I’ve seen Unreal provides a pretty good playing field, lots of things that make it fluid and visually cool but not a lot of options in terms of original things they could do. I’m assume if they made a single player mode, it might resemble COD or something a little too much. could be that they lack the resources too to derail from the Unreal engine.
